  1. CAn you make it play the ostinato from Duel of the Fates ?
  2. That's strange, I haven't noticed any hiss.... Is it only on the European ones?
  3. I have it, I also have the asteroid chase, although 2 pages are missing from that!!!!!! Which is annoying!@!@#$!$!@ It's not for sale, I got them off someone.
  4. I hope we get great Myrtle music... it does depend on wether or not she is in a lot though. I really hope John does the score, what no one realizes is that he hasn't commited yet
  5. Yoda's theme was from AOTC.
  6. I ordered theorchjestral score for Across the Stars through Hal Leonard, so I'm sure they'll have the piano reduction too. I'm pissed that teh Chase through Corruscant wasn't included!!!!! Or the Conveyor belt!!!
  7. WHAT????????? Where? I've been listening to it the whole time.. even on my iPod at the gym!!!!
  8. Across the Stars. I never really warmed up to Han and Leia as much as the others. I don;t know why, I like it, but I never Loved it.
  9. He came to speak to a bunch of us up-and coming composers a few years ago and we got to sit and talk to him after he spoke. What he meant by "Luckily what he came up with was good" was the fact that just because Williams wrote the theme, Kasdan had not heard it orchestrally. He might not have liked it. I think he did mention that he played it earlier on the piano but he also said that Williams did not do mock ups for the director to hear which is the norm now in Hollywood. Most directors want to hear everything mocked up and sounding near perfect before you go into the studio to conduct the orchestra. I actually said that I think he's making a big mistake by not working with him again, which wasn't seen as the thing to say, but hey, I have my view and besides, I hate the way directors and producers who have no idea about music, butcher and shcange things all over the place. Please, give the composer some credit!!!!
  10. Please!!!!!!! Give me a break, he has three years. That's no excuse. There's a little thing out there called megalomania. Lucas, do you hear me?
  11. Morn, It's one of the last tracks, or maybe it was only in the film and not on the CD, I'll have to listen to it again, but it's the whole down bow aggressive chomping string thing, and it's not the part at the end of track 13, its just like the rite of spring part... very effective!!!!!
  12. What is there not to like?????????
  13. Kasdan said that he would never work on it again. As far as I know he and Lucas had dissagreements, bad ones. Also when I asked him about working with Williams on Accidental Tourist and why he didn't use him again his reply was this: "Williams works by himself. You give him a film and he takes it and delivers the final product. He doesn't like interaction and says he knows what the film needs. I don't work that way, I need more collaboration. Luckily what he came up with was good, but I can't work with someone like that again." From his mouth, to mine to yours...
  14. Adventures on Earth was completely based on the last movement of Howard Hanson's ROmantic Symphony. I think the scene was tracked with it to start with. NOt only the woodwind figures at the begining but also the brass repeated duplet/triplet descending and ascending motif. Firebird ballet by Starvinsky. It's the same music Williams uses for Tinkerbell in Hook. Stravinsky's Rite of Spring - Williams has used this as a basis of a lot of compositions in Star Wars and other big adventure stuff. In Harry Potter Williams uses the same String motif as in "Dances of the Pretty Maidens" and in Star Wars when the droids are in the desert look at the similarities between that and "Great Sacrifice - Introduction". Both Star Wars and Superman's main titles uses stuff from Korngolds "Kings Row" I have the MP3 of it if anyone is interested. etc etc etc etc..... Williams has a lot of other Influences like the before mentioned composers.
  15. Don't you want to see how Hermione dies????????? It's so tragic! OK OK, I'm totally being silly and that isn't true, BUT READ!!!! It's an order!
  16. So did anyone find out yet. I won't be able to till next week.
  17. I didn't hear it from Rick McAllum. I heard it through some casting people I know in LA. I'll try and find out the scoop.
  18. Which means that you should get to it and read the second book. They are all fantastic especially the 3rd and 4th. And to go back to the actual topic posted, I think it will be a mix of the old themes with one or possibly two new ones, not more though. Even though I would like it to be new new new....
  19. I hope so and I hope the chase stuff is on the same sort of city sounding tip as in the chase through corruscant
  20. Which brings me to my point..... why not track in the droid theme in the conveyer belt cue, why Yoda? hhhhmmmm? hhhmmmmm? I'm going to go ask Jedi Master Rosiedious about this
  21. All hail Jedi Master O'donellerose
  22. You guys are so different to me. I thought C3PO was the one saving factor of the movie!!!!! Loved him!!!!
  23. AI promo, at least for me. Although Hook complete is an amazing one
  24. Yes, they are taking over Hollywood, I think we need to send them back to you Morn ALthough I think they are 10 times better than the actors here. Cate Blanchet should play a young Mon Mothma (unless of course Mon Mothma is Amidala in disguise) I wonder if Jackman is a young Tarkin???????????
  25. I don't know... Sometimes the music is recorded 2 to 3 weeks before the release, so it could be getting done right now if not next week. That's why I'm trying to find out. I hope it's good. I have a feeling he's over worked with orchestral stuff so he's going to go a different route, and I personally love his orchestral stuff. We'll see...
