Huge Movie Stars Williams Hasn't Scored For
ocelot replied to SkyMaker's topic in General Discussion
I own Caligula, it's a little too much, but at least they got the feel of Roman life right. -
I'm sorry, but how on earth are you supposed to choose between the two. They don't compare........ It makes no sense at all, but since I had to, I voted SL. I don't know, whichever one I choose, the other is dissed.

I swear, you can use "Mars" in any action trailer and it gets you going!!!!

Huge Movie Stars Williams Hasn't Scored For

OK following on from what "A Guy" said, a lot of Gladiator was not written by Zimmer. Also, the stuff that was, was copied from some sources including and not limited to "The Last Temptation of Christ" and "The Planets" especially Mars. As for the film, it was ok, but the other thing apart from the music that I didn't like was the fact that Rome was soooooooo clean?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?! As if?! It should have been disgusting and full of filth and Illness. As for Phoenix, he was great. Now, A Beautiful Mind was so made up it drove me crazy. The characters are true but the story was complete and utter fiction. As for Crowe and the Oscar. What made a lot of people not vote for him was his attitude and actions during the British BAFTA's. -
Meaning, why would you report on a scoring session and not have anything about the music in there..... It sounded like it was the guys first time in a session and had never seen an orchestra or ever realized that an orchestra did the sounds that he was hearing or that it was synched to the film with click track, which actually makes thigs ten times easier, not harder... or... do you want me to start on about the responses on that website to the article????????????????????????? Oh, no I wasn't talking about you guys here, I just got that you might have thought my comment was directed to you.... oops, sorry, for the record, it had nothing to do with anyone on this board!

What do you think of the Harry Potter book series?
ocelot replied to Gamecube's topic in General Discussion
My 300th post.... Yes, I am a geek!!!!!!!!!! Did anyone ever read the sexual Harry Potter fan fiction? Him and Hermione in a tunnel under the invisibility cloak or something like that.... It was really bizare and just not right at all!!!!!!!!!!! And no, it's not because I think Harry and Ron should end up together!!!!!!!! I just don't think of sex and Harry Potter books in the same sentence. -
But how come Williams didn't do Superman 2?
-
some people are soooooooooo clever.... NOT

OK, this is funny, my friend who I just showed TPM to wants to know if AOTC is playing in a 2 dollar theatre. She said she needs another good laugh, so we might go see it today. This will be my second viewing so I'll have to give it fresh eyes, earas etc etc etc...

Luke still does not understand because he says that he doesn't like the Harry Potter novels... He can't say that unless he has sat down and read at least one, the whole way through. He can however say that he doesn't think he will like them because of the subject matter... I'd give him that, but he hasn't said that. As to the Star Wars novels, I have read 16 and out of those, I trully loved the Timothy Zahn trilogy, the rest I can do without, but I did take the time to sit and read them and got some enjoyment out of them, if only to see what happens to the characters. Now, who said that Interview with the Vampire was a good a film as the book????????? Can't dissagree with you more. Tom Cruise as Lestat? He was horrible!!!!! And they left out so many incredible things plus you never felt their energy or their sensualness in the film, you felt it ten fold in the book. I can't wait for book 5, I read GoF when it first came out as a hardback and now I am jonesing for the next one!!!! The 4th one ended and it opened up a whole trilogy to come that could be as huge as LOTR or any other epic... It was like the first four were incredible books in their own right, but they were a prelude to a huge event that is now about to occur.... I can't wait! -
Wait, what is The Musketeer? And what happened with Superman 2? I never heard any stories!
-
If my little friends would head over to the coming attractions website, I think it's www.corona.bc.ca/films/main.html , you will notice that it looks like the Superman vs. Batman film has been shelved for the moment to accommodate a 200 page great Superman 5 script that has come to WB's attention. It seems like they want to get a director for it soon and start ASAP. Since McG is busy and can't work on it right away, they are looking at 4 other contenders, 2 of them being Soderberg and Fincher. I wonder.... Since it is Superman 5, will they be using Williams's theme?

I don't think they have a mystical appeal at all now. I think us lot go because of Williams music, but on the whole, the last two films were shitty at best. My friend hadn't seen Phantom Menace so I showed it to her a couple of days ago. I've never heard anyone laugh as much as she did. At the end she said "Well that was one of the best comedy of errors I have ever seen and all of them were Lucas's" One thing I did notice this time is how uncomfortable Portman is with these huge things on her head. At one point in the film she is wearing white and you can tell that she is making a huge effort not to move her head in case it falls off. We were rolling off our charis looking at her move her eyeballs from one person to the next obviously uncomfortable in her gettup. I digress...... What I wanted to point out is that I don't understand how some of you can say "yeah, the story, script, acting, directing and a couple of other things were bad, but I liked it" What is it you liked? The music? Get the CD. The special effects? Get computer games with kickass effects or have great effects in a great movie, the effects are the dressing, but all that other stuff is the meat... If I want to see a film, I want to see exactly that... A film, A Good Film if not a great one. Why do some people make excuses for it just because it's a Star Wars film? If it was any other movie you would think it sucked, but because it's Star Wars, you like it?! It makes no sense at all. It's like a mother that can't see a fault in her child. I don't mean to offend anyone, but I think it's time we expected intelligent films from the creators, not dumbed down visual spectacles.

OK here I go again... Anyone that doesn't hear Hook in across the stars has to go have their ears checked. I have both scores now and the notes, intervals and the whole basic structure are the same...... Not that I don;'t like either of them, I do, very much, but there's no denying that theya re the same. The first time I heard ATS I was like, Hold on a sec.... That's Hook!

Well i thought it was "the lonely goatherd" But I think you are correct. How did you ever guess????????? Come to think of it, it would be so much less nausiating if that was what was playing in place of "it's a small world" I can't stand that song!!!!!!!!!!! I needed therapy at age 11 because of it.
