Really? You thought it was very good? :? I loved the film, but I really hated the score. I thought it was really weak. I expected some sort of theme for the X-men but there wasn't one, at least not one that I recognized....
-
Well, Kate Capshaw is going to be in it. So we have one there and John will be scoring it.

Ricard. I never said Batman was a bad score. I have it, it's good, all I said is that the theme is simplistic. It was a comment made to whoever said that the Batman theme was harder to score. It's just six notes, repeated and then an answer or so. The Superman March is a whole piece, structured, with different sections, etc etc etc... That's all. Differet styles of composition, one is "pop" based, the other orchestral. Superman's theme capture the character. Batman captures the mood of the film. If you want to know what I think were bad superhero theme, it;s x-men and spiderman. How do you say non-existant?!
-
The Batman theme is pretty simplistic, there's not much to it at all. Superman is complex, yet again... How can you say Elfman had the harder job?!?!?!?!?!?

OK, I like it so I voted for 2. Now as for Angela's Ashes, both the main title and Back to America are fantastic, so is the rest of the score mind you. It's one of my favorite JW albums (not the American version though)

A good tinkerbell would have been Kylie Minogue. She plays the green fairy in Moulin Rouge.

Hope he gets it, but it's nothing like getting another oscar. How many times is he going to get shafted?!

BOth scores are incredible. It's all I listen to at Christmas! And yes, there are great moments in the second that are NOT on the CD!

Pigs have flown in planes before, does that count?

I would go for it if he is playing his age. But if they dumb it down and make him try to act younger and stuff....
-
I have to say that hook os one of Spielberg's worst films but one of Williams's greatest scores. Performances by Hoffman, Smith and Hoskins are great too but the movie just falls face first into the ground. Bad choices with Tinkerbell and Peter, although I love both Roberts and R. Williams in other films.....
-
Sorry to dissagree, but I love the choices!

Which begs the question... What paper wrote that? Where do you live? -
Yes, he does look good sometimes, but then I see him in interviews and the partying is definitely catching up to him and he is almost slurring and glazed... I don't know, remember it's going to be another couple of years before it's done.

Porn Film... LOL!!!!!!!! It is not a porn film at all. What a load of rubbish -
Brendan Frasier? I don't think he has the look or the wit. He has wit, but it's more silly rather than sexy. (No, not in that way, but whoever takes place has to have IT, and Brendan to9 me doesn't have IT)

Do you guys think Harrison Ford is too old for Indy 4? Will he be able to pull off another one? Can he still act without looking glazed and confused all the time? Does he still posess a spark? Can he still use a whip? Should it be about his son, played by Colin Farrell, taking over? (OK that last part was wishful thinking on my part, but if there is a person to take over, I can't think of a better person) Anyway, I would love to hear what anyone thinks about this. I personally would love another Indy, however I don't know if he is too old for it or not now. Hopefully he can pull it off.

It should still be there... That's like saying let's vote for best Star Wars score and not include TESB. ALthough it wouldn't get my vote, I don't think. I don't know, I'd have to listen to it again.

I agree with what Joe said. These days it's like, "ooh, we'll blow them off the screen and show them the latest CGI and they'll not even care about plot, story and acting....." Bullshit! Plot, Story and Acting are 10 times more important. Yeah, it's great to see where we are technologicaly but hell, give me a film, not an amusement park! The latter is just dressing (great dressing at that, but that is it, dressing, not meat.) As for John Williams... I don't know if there is an era I prefer, it totally depends on the film. I love him doing adventure scoring, I know I've stated it before, but I think it's where he shines and the rest of the composers.... well you know...... flop! As for the younger generation vs the older generation.... It's all about taste, nothing else

And I thought Williams said in an interview that he is writing 40 minutes of score and the rest was going to be based on his material!?! -

As much as we don't usually dissagree... Do we? I can't remember 8O I would prefer to see Williams do the whole series!
