I'd say perhaps, but the JAWS Motif is a strong contender...
Oh I think Jaws is perhaps even more famous than the Superman ostinato.
Just before I clicked the 'submit' button, I thought of Jaws, but I thought what the hell. Okay, excusing Jaws

Surely it is?

Good film music died with Jerry Goldsmith.

My friends, you know me to be neither rash nor impulsive.I'm not given to wild, unsupported statements.
Hmm.

Cheap.

The one thing they don't explain, though, is where the new dialogue (as spoken by Brando, ie) comes from.
Brando shot footage for Superman II that has never been seen. The line "Remember me" heard in some of the ads is from this footage. And here is a fun outtake, that should really dazzle fans of Superman II.

A little heavy for my tastes, but pretty darn good all the same

So far for me this is a fairly generic blockbuster score, but whenever it hits the Williams notes, it soars into something else. Kind of ironic I guess. Some pretty decent action cues, but nothing particulary inspired.
That being said, I'm sure this is gonna serve the film just fine, thanks mainly to Williams. Though I'm sure the original Ottman material will grow on people in time. Methinks there will be more musical Superman statements in the actual movie than there is on the album. Ottman rightfully wants to keep the first ost release largely original to himself.
4.06mins Not Like The Train Set AWESOME! -

Bloody hell, I must say I'm suprised by the appearance of this feed - anyone with the slightest knowledge of how XP works will know how to download this for keeps. Is it a crappy bitrate or something? I never checked since I already have the album.

Yup, its on isohunt right now. I've just er, ordered a copy.
-
The worring thing is (well not really), a lot of Variety's demographic take Todd Mccarthy's sermons as gospel.
-
"The sometimes ethereal qualities of Ottman's work, amplified by significant choral strains, provide an emotional dimension -- and show up Williams' "Star Wars" thematic variation for the bombast it is."

The only problem I see with a Connery return is audience confusion. "Who's playing the dad?!"
Nah, I want to see Connery return. Bring it on!
I'm sure the film's tagline will be:
"Who's the daddy now!"
Now I want to see THAT on the poster

Yeah I guess you have a point. I don't hate or dislike Horner. Its just that he pisses me off sometimes.
Put it one way: He wouldn't want to bump into me in a dark alley.

Hi, I'm a movie buff. What the hell is the Star Wars prequel trilogy?
It's been bugging me for years but do you think the flute solo in the middle part of Jaws theme is exactly the same as the beginning of Michael Jackson's Heal the World?Yeah, I noticed that years ago. I always tell people that Williams himself actually wrote the song (gullible fools
) . In the same way that Elton John basically writes his songs - the music. The lyrics owe it all to the music. -
What the hell has this all got to do with my post question?! :?

I thought the performance was fine ... compared to the other performances recorded over the years. I really want to know how the new Krypton cue sounds like now that they have thrown out the prologue.
I was reading some of the posts on your linked page and it seems that quite a few people on there hold the Kong score in very high regard. Some posters chose cues from it as being in their personal top five. I'm quite suprised by this, but I certainly agree its a quality score, especially considering the circumstances in which it was written. Glad to see it getting the recognition it deserves

Munich is a very good film, but it's not great, certainly by Spielbergs standards.
Yet it is easily still a five star film. Go figure.

I honestly didn't care much for David, as he is not real.
Tim
Therein lies my interest in the movie.

Bang on target.

am I correct in thinking that pieces like Scherzo For Motorcycle and Orchestra and The Shark Cage Fugue are impossibly catchy for something so seemingly complex?
I'd love to know the answer to this

What an odd comment.
What can I say, I'm rich. Like Hooper.
-
Why would anyone want to watch 11 clips of Superman Returns? Wouldn' that hinder your movie-going experience when you finally get to the theater?
Tim
Watch these clips in the toilet, if you can. For some reason I've always found fourthcoming movie clips less spoilsome, in the toilet.

Don't get me wrong guys, I quite like WOTW now, after a second viewing. Its a flawed but solid film. Entertaining with some excellent moments. And some very bad screenplay decisions.
Its just that I hyped myself into the stratosphere pre-release. I was expecting the sci-fi film to end all others (seeing as it was Spielberg) - Saving Private Ryan with aliens. At least that how I expected the action to play out, foolishley judging by the trailers.
What I got was something different entirely. A truly amazing setup followed by a lacklustre second half.
But on repeated viewing I can enjoy it for what it is: A very good alien invasion movie. But ID4 is the more fun of the two.

world cup theme?

I don't think you're talking about this, but I've noticed they play The Pet Shop Boys hit 'Go West' around the stadium after a match.
