It does and it probably plays into why I generally give rom-coms a wide berth. Although I make exceptions for ones like Pretty Woman. 

I know you guys prefer to play it down, but damn, listening to these samples (I'm not really interested in the direct comparisons raised), it's uncanny just how accurately Haab sounds like Williams. Like, exactly like him. 
 
In fact if some producer bod came on here and told us Haab's work was Williams, nobody on here would doubt it. You're all liars if you reckon you would be naturally alerted of a difference in a pepsi challenge! 

The Orville started out as something completely different to where it eventually ended up. It literally recalibrates itself over a handful of episodes, for the better. 

Although some here think Haab's music is autopilot Williams imitation without good themes, I think his music is very impressive. We're lucky to have it.

Yeah, I know it didn't create much of a buzz at the time, but I also recall some reasonably positive word of mouth about it too.

Any chance we can get just a sadface react so we don't always need to go all out with the balling our eyes out one? It's a bit extreme. 

That's the most in-depth I've seen Alex speak about a film he's watched in years. Movies he really enjoys don't get as much typing effort; and I think it further goes to show how people take much more pleasure in slagging stuff off than they do articulating the virtues of something better instead. 

I never fell for The Green Mile like it it seemed the entire rest of the world did. Shawshank is a far superior film, IMO. 

The more intimately skilled with composition Williams became the more stodgy and boring his music got. This is why his earlier 70s-80s stuff is drastically more exciting than his post Schindler's era output. You can track Spielberg's career arc in almost exactly the same way, it's pretty striking. 
 
I also think the differences between analogue and digital play their part in the resonant effectiveness of Williams' sound.

Rear Window is the weakest of the three IMO. 

There, he said it quite openly, he's possibly interested. So if the showrunners don't even speak to Shore about it and just go in another direction, basically fuck this show. 
 
I'm really fearful of a Djawadi style approach with this.
