Quintus got a reaction from Wojo in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (JJ Abrams 2015)
See Blume, if you had shots like that in your caption contest I might feel more inclined to contribute. Because your recent ones have been rubbish!

Quintus got a reaction from Ren in Man Of Steel (2013 Superman reboot directed by Zack Snyder)
Yeah, I'm just a humble part-timer!

Lol is that a purposefully terrible analogy or what?

Quintus reacted to Captain_Ken in Disney to produce new Star Wars film
I see Lucasfilm has announced that Disney will be producing a seventh Star Wars movie, Star Wars: Episode VII. No timeline has been given, but I hope John Williams is still around to write the music. Any new SW trilogy wouldn't be the same without him.

Quintus got a reaction from Brónach in Anakin's Theme versus Across The Stars
I love it. He even had time to give a rhino its own theme tune. John writes better melodies for animals in captivity than other composers can muster for an entire main theme.
That's why John is an insurmountable beast, feared by Zimmer, Elfman et al.

Quintus got a reaction from KK in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (JJ Abrams 2015)
Jesus Christ who cares about who's offered what and under whichever conditions! Shall we have a poll? "Should/Will John be offered Star Wars?"
I know, let's just wait for the official announcement instead.

Quintus reacted to Nick1Ø66 in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (JJ Abrams 2015)
No. Quite the opposite.
Well, I didn't know you were sick of Star Wars. And I'm by no means a huge Abrams fan. I've seen his movies, and I enjoyed them all well enough. But I haven't seen a single episode of one of his TV shows. I think he's a good enough director, and I believe he understands Star Wars. Otherwise, I'm not quite sure I see what everyone thinks is so special about him.
But I like the pick because it's safe. And you can't blame them for making a safe pick...there's too much riding on this movie. Besides, Star Wars isn't art house theatre, and people will go see the new movies, in large part, because they want to return to that universe. That's a big reason I believe The Hobbit movie has performed so well. People just want to go back there. You cant underestimate the pull of nostalgia. That doesn't mean it shouldn't, or can't, be a great film. But it should be Star Wars.
And frankly I don't want a director who's going to mess around with the Star Wars universe. I thought Abram's Star Trek was a pretty good movie, but it wasn't a good Star Trek movie, because he really wanted to make Star Wars. I just want someone who will make a good Star Wars movie.
Indeed.

Quintus got a reaction from KK in The Hobbit Film Trilogy Thread
Thorin will be revealed to be the long lost brother of Grishnákh, who will be revealed as the bastard child of Sauron and Galadrial.
The third movie will be about the reconciliation of that ancient unspoken love and the reunion of the family, finally bridging the gap to LOTR in a finale which will see Galadrial throw Sauron's wardrobe contents out the bedroom window after a huge row about her wedding Ring, the fade to black into credits lingering on a foreboding shot of Sauron trudging toward Mordor, heartbroken.

Quintus got a reaction from Gruesome Son of a Bitch in BBC Radio 3 Composer of the Week - John Williams (14-18 January, 2013)
Bit rich of a Pops orchestra to act all high and mighty anyway. They're not exactly playing in the Boston Symphony Orchestra, after all.

Quintus got a reaction from BLUMENKOHL in Father Ted vs. Blackadder
Father Ted. I tried watching a couple of Blackadders over Christmas (including the legendary special) and I just found it really juvenile and dated. In fact I didn't even laugh, to my disappointment and surprise - I used to LOVE that show in my teens. Now it literally felt like I was watching a pantomime, and I despise pantomimes.
However, Blackadder Goes Forth remains the best and most watchable of the series, it's poignancy in the end raising it above the usual silliness.
Didn't used to like Father Ted actually. Then again I missed its first run. But if I catch a repeat now I'm always laughing my head off.

Quintus got a reaction from crocodile in Is Close Encounters Of The Third Kind the greatest John Williams score of all time..?
Poor Kamen, so young...
I really liked his sound, his harmonies were the sort that sent shivers.

A lot of fun? I'd be more inclined to call it a sublime listening experience, magnificent musical storytelling.

Aye, erectile dysfunction with a chap like Alex would explain a lot of that pent up angst...

Quintus got a reaction from Ren in The Hobbit Film Trilogy Thread
Oh I look like a girl quite a lot during those movies, and I don't care

Quintus got a reaction from Ren in The Hobbit Film Trilogy Thread
Right. Because their actual arrival, Theoden's speech and the following charge [of the light brigade] is my all time favourite movie moment ever, as it happens.

Quintus got a reaction from Ren in George Lucas gets engaged
I've seen her elsewhere and for her age she's an attractive woman. But knock off the bullshit - nobody should feel under obligation to find her gorgeous just because Steef dated a black chick. What a load of shite; if she were white he'd be the first to be be brutally honest about the fact that the lady is middle aged.

I took a girl to see that. It was fucking brilliant. Haven't got a clue what happened in the movie.

Lucas could take two wives, Ren. One for him, and one for his neck.

Quintus reacted to JoeinAR in When did JWFAN become the JRRTFan site?
I've not mentioned TinTin or Warhorse, and I really don't know your exact feelings on those two films/filmscores(I love them both immensely) but as I said there were 12 different JRRT related threads on the page 1 when I began this thread. Back during the Great Indy release we had a dedicated area to go as to not clutter up the place. As you've said if I don't like a thread don't go there and I don't. But sometimes there are just so many damned Tolkien themed threads at the top as I pop in and out of the site I felt compelled to post this thread. I'm sorry if I've offended anyone and I guess afterall we won't have much to talk about now that John won't have another score until 2014 God Willing. -
Quintus got a reaction from Dixon Hill in Do You Truly Hate Hans Zimmer? (Musically.)
I just think Zimmer loves his job, his life and can't help but shout about it. He's a happy chap, and a probably a decent salesman.
People like that tend to be infectious; only irritating the most curmudgeonly minded among us.
