When the film comes out Ford will be older than John Williams is at that point.

The theatrical version is easily superior. The longer cut plays havoc with the pacing, quite badly.

I'm about five episodes into Queen's Gambit, it's the best period TV I've seen since Mad Men.

And they're probably the best and most well-paced episodes of the entire series. Buckle up.

Even the BBC is guilty of that hackish clickbait reporting lately, elevating randomers outspoken 280 word reacts as if it means something big enough that I should care or be influenced by it. I dunno, bring back Bono having a view, I say. Tell me what Elton John thinks about it; not Shanice from New Jersey. If you're gonna be vocally outraged then you better at least have had a top ten hit under your belt, that's how it used to be in my day.

Imagine watching a Spider-Man flick not expecting light humour and tone. Sometimes I really wonder about people.

SyFy showed Seasons 1 and 2 of Future Man ... I watched and enjoyed both. Don't know if they  intend to show the third, it's been a year since it premiered on Hulu.

EDIT: A quick Google tells me Season 3 is 'exclusively' on Amazon Prime. Oh well.

Completely wrong there. It’s an open world game done properly. The entire map is obscured by a fog of war that’s only lifted as you explore. No icons until you actually discover them, encouraging you to wander as you please. There’s also no map icons or markers in game. You’re guided by the wind and environmental changes towards your next objective.

The side quests are also well written and contain mini plot lines of their own. Stumble upon a new character? You’re now on a 9 mission path that has a beginning, middle, and end that you can complete at your own pace.

It’s far and above anything Ubisoft would churn out, and that’s coming from a huge fan of Far Cry and a lapsed fan of Assassin’s Creed. That’s not to say it doesn’t follow the general tropes of collectibles and other open world activities. It’s not a perfect game, but it’s damn good and I enjoyed the 60 or so hours I put into it to 100%.

I only ever read it on JWFan that ROTJ isn't good. I always liked it, same as the rest of the regular none obsessive nutjob SW audience did. I mean, compared to all the later ones it's The Godfather Part fucking II.

One of the brilliant things LOTR is how well spotted it is. Both Shore and Jackson found ways to not only make all the complex plot devices and characters feel like one cohesive whole, but find beautiful key moments that elevate both the score and the what's happening on screen to create truly cinematic moments (a sad rarity these days).

What do you think are some of the best spotted scenes in the trilogy?

    One obvious suggestion:

Along with pretty much most of the first act of FOTR, the score really manages to elevate about 20min of massive exposition dump into beautifully sculpted storytelling. The way he manages to make all these different cuts feel like one cohesive set-piece is a masterclass in shaping momentum. And I love how the score so delicately dances around the mentions of the Ring and the doom it portends in the "Keep It Secret, Keep it Safe" scene that follows. It all feels so deliberate, like days were spent pouring over what beats to hit, shape and lead up to.

So many fantastic scenes like this (Mirror of Galadriel, Court of Meduseld, etc). What are some of your favourites?
