  1. You could just purchase them digitally: https://play.google.com/store/music/album?id=B4petuvkl7xgkkhnzyxtfwhowuu https://play.google.com/store/music/album?id=Be5jwugjyjacuidvnqovakcefty https://play.google.com/store/music/album?id=B4j5iaemiokm5aju4ih7qxszkcm https://play.google.com/store/music/album?id=Bsrm7cvfdxpr5jqtjbfy2biz5z4 https://play.google.com/store/music/album?id=Bnj3xsm2u3qwvu4w4pkyggbdali https://play.google.com/store/music/album?id=Bw4vegi4pkgz5sv3nth7qjxejwi
  2. Anything Williams would be great, but Hook would be first prize for me.
  3. Thanks Richard, so with regard to the finale, I take it that it is material unique to the Intrada release (and the later US recording sessions)? Do you perhaps have an idea which version of My First Bus Ride is represented?
  4. Does anyone who has the Intrada release (problematic as it may be) perhaps know which cues are represented in the suite put together for The Archive (Ep 13) on Cinematic Sound Radio? http://www.cinematicsound.net/the-archive-with-jason-drury-episode-thirteen/
  5. Hi @Erik Woods, I was wondering whether you keep playlists for all your uploaded shows somewhere? I noticed some of the older shows do not have playlists linked. Specifically, do you perhaps have the playlist for The Archive Episode 13 for The Mummy Returns? Many thanks.
  6. Thanks to a thread on FSM I came across Robert Folk's Soundcloud page, which has a decent selection of cues from his scores, some of them unreleased / OOP: https://m.soundcloud.com/robert-folk/sets/robert-folk-film-music Does anyone know of any other composers of Film, TV and Games that have music on Soundcloud? I also know of Gordy Haab's page: https://m.soundcloud.com/gordyhaab And Chad Seiter: https://m.soundcloud.com/chadseiter
  7. I chose Horner, but also want to shout out for Goldsmith's NIMH and Mulan, and Bernstein's Heavy Metal and Black Cauldron. From the obscure side, I wish Ken Melville and Dawn Atkinson's score for Twice Upon a Time would get released someday.
  8. Pity. Had hoped this might have been Hook. Oh well, too much of a good thing, etc.
  9. Agreed Thor. Also if one is unfamiliar with the performance of the OST then a modern re-recording easily becomes the accepted standard. That's why I prefer the Gerhardt / NPO CE3K performance to Williams' own (for that particular passage of music). There are many examples where re-recordings exceed the originals. Kunzel's SpaceCamp is fantastic compared to the very limp performance under Williams' baton on the OST / film score. Yes, but only if they are bit-for-bit identical to the originals.
  10. Not sure if these are all pre-1940 films but here goes: The Adventures of Robin Hood (Kojian USO) The Sea Hawk (Kojian USO) The Thief of Bagdad / Jungle Book (Varese) Rosza Centenary Celebration (Varese) King Kong (F Steiner NPO) No originals as I cannot stand the poor SQ on these old recordings. I used to have: Gone With the Wind (Polydor) but it sounded atrocious so I sold it. I'll get the Gerhardt someday. Not pre-1940, but I previously owned and sold King of Kings / The Greatest Story Ever Told and How the West Was Won due to their archival SQ. I look forward to the Tadlow King of Kings release. I believe the oldest original film score recording I own is Rhino's Ben Hur (the hardbound book style one).
  11. That's very subjective and vague, why no percentages given here? So songs are okay as long as they are not predominant or dilute the score. What?? What is the dilution ratio? 1:3? 1:5? 1:9? So multi-composer scores are not permitted? But where are the percentages? Did Hans write all of Dunkirk by himself?
  12. I bet he has a standard response permanently stuck on his clipboard for all these C&C releases. "The OST for [insert score title here] is more than sufficient already."
  13. According to The Digital Bits, work on updating ST: TMP DE for hi-def has begun. I can't find the reference though, I read it a few months back. Edit: I found it. A lot of you are likely wondering about the classic Star Trek films on 4K, including the long-awaited (and occasionally teased) Star Trek: The Motion Picture – Director’s Edition. What I can tell you is that this is a big project but things are moving in a positive direction, if very slowly. So don’t give up; this one is going to require some patience. But do take every opportunity you have via social media to let the studio know that you really want #sttmp40 on physical 4K Ultra HD. Positive mojo can only help. https://thedigitalbits.com/columns/my-two-cents/012820-1230
  14. Finally today, the results are in on my Twitter follow-up poll about the classic Star Trek films in 4K. I asked those who were interested in the films in 4K whether they would buy just the hits (say, films I, II, IV, and VI) or if they wanted to buy all ten of them (all of the Original Series and Next Generation films). And the answer by a WIDE margin was all ten. With nearly 2K people voting, the whole slate of films was preferred by a whopping 92.3% of people. And here’s the thing to keep in mind: If new 4K scans and proper re-masters are done for each film, not only can Paramount release them on physical 4K Ultra HD and Digital 4K, they can release remastered Blu-rays versions too. And that’s REALLY important, because other than Star Trek II, all of the other films look TERRIBLE on Blu-ray. Those original discs are so scrubbed with Digital Noise Reduction that they’re unwatchable. I mean, they were bad the day they were original released. And they certainly haven’t gotten better in the years since. So there IS pent-up demand for new and properly-remastered Blu-rays of these films in addition to 4K. Also:
  15. Looked fine in mine. Perhaps your cinema was broken? Some of the opticals looked pretty dodgy though.
  16. But if they did... *cough* Dunkirk *cough* My point is their "rules" are arbitrary and stupid. A non-sequel can be only 60% original but a sequel has to be at least 80%? Shouldn't an original be 100% original?? They should make scores shorter than 30 minutes, as well as scores that mimic sound design, ineligible.
  17. What about all the hundreds of RC crap scores that sound exactly the same - how is that original??
  18. My stuff is stored in crates by composer, however within each crate there is no rhyme or reason. I do, however, maintain a spreadsheet which indicates which titles are in a specific crate, so where a composer (such as JW) has two or more crates I know where to look if I am after something. Didn't I read somewhere that CDs need to be stored vertically? Just wondering. Also aren't you worried about dust?
  19. If you guys do decide to tackle OotP I hope you will consider retaining Dolores Umbridges theme by Hooper, as it's quite Williams (Hook) esque and suits the character beautifully.
  20. Which island? As for the film, I've been a Star Wars fan since '77 and I enjoyed TROS. It's not perfect, but then what is. At least it doesn't have a character whose name is Don't Join.
