  1. Can't wait for the inevitable few obnoxious reviews lamenting that an exalted label like DG now plays host to that Hollywood hack Williams.
  2. Not the most encouraging way to start a six episode conclusion with some not even breaking an hour. We'll see.
  3. Might need to find my way back then. In these dangerous Ricardian times, we must keep our options open.
  4. What with the forum continuing its protracted death spiral, I wonder if I jumped ship on the Discord too soon. Still going strong?
  5. Looks as blandly inoffensive and mildly entertaining as the other two. My sweet summer poster. If you can survive the Long Night of Star Wars, you'll be a true JWFan.
  6. Stu your apparent appreciation for Magritte and "the long line" only encourage me further to officially endorse you as my successor.
  7. Star Wars fans must have one of the largest concentrations of scum to be found in any fandom.
  8. I've recognized TheUlyssesian as one of the more obnoxious and troublesome elements of JWFan for some time now. Glad the rest of you are catching on. As for this other controversy, give me a break.
  9. Neither I nor any other composer I know, and that's quite a few, would be remotely likely to feel as strongly about their own work as that of others. Even Williams, who may put on a more humble air in public than is genuine, probably earnestly has the same reservations about his work as the rest of us. One can know when one did a good job, but only the most narcissistic are likely to point a finger at their own work as something they really love on a list like this.
  10. People whine for this kind of crap to make a comeback but forget that 80% of what was churned out "back in the day" was as unmemorable as 80% of anything today, just with a different musical accent. Not surprising that one score that ticks the usual boxes of overblown symphonic fetishists (read: "themes" and "orchestration" or whatever the fuck those mean in their little world) while still making the dozens of studio twits calling the shots happy is nothing to write home about.
  11. On Powell's list? Did you read it? There are 6. On Zimmer's? Why would he cite his own work?
  12. You mean flail and wail like an infant wallowing in his own feces while the composers he whines about and millions around the world whose lives are enriched by their music give not the slightest damn?
  13. I prefer Nolan's but I wish he had written his Catwoman sexier.
  14. The vibe of the music plays a role for me but I think I base it more on the arbitrary times of the year that I associate the movies themselves with, either based on their release or just when I happen to often see them. Jaws and the Indiana Jones scores are summer. Close Encounters too. LOTR is winter. Etc.
