  1. What astronauts did you meet Joey? It's a little known fact about me that I briefly worked for NASA/almost entered the astronaut corps.
  2. Cage's In A Landscape, Music for Marcel Duchamp Adams' Harmonium, Harmonielehre, Phrygian Gates
  3. Dangnabbit. Oh the thumbs up was to KK. There is still hope.
  4. I assume multiple entries are not allowed.
  5. Wow, I've not heard this before, but the second movement is ridiculously similar to one of the first pieces I wrote. KK, I think some of it is recorded, and some of it is live aleatory, assuming you mean the Spring 0 movement.
  6. Most if not all of those are on Youtube.
  7. I saw Koray mention Max Richter way back in this thread. He did a great "recomposition" of Vivaldi's Four Seasons, basically taking each piece and creating a new one based on an element or elements from the original, and in a few cases only slightly altering the original. Worth a listen, I'll see if there are any on Youtube in a moment. Well, looks like the whole thing is. http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL6wSqc1bLqPB0Pw5Gr8-dgGKVYzoKww7c
  8. Look to the Stars, Sent Here for a Reason, Goodbye My Son, the last 2 minutes of Terraforming, Launch, This is Clark Kent, I Have So Many Questions, Flight, What Are You Going to Do When You Are Not Saving the World?, and Earth are all fantastic, and I urge you to listen to them with an open mind and ear. Hans' "sketchbook" is also an interesting and worthwhile listen. But as KK said... we've been over all this before.
  9. It's a solid program, really. Emerson and Caviezel are great together. The Abrams/Nolan combo got my attention, but the consistent quality of the show kept it. I'm spoiled post-Lost/Breaking Bad, but it's a fine substitute.
  10. Don't worry Joey, it wasn't you. But here- I'll own up to it. The film ended up being mostly not great.
  11. I don't think I've ever expressed that kind of sentiment... I like or dislike a show on its own merits, not the network it's on, or its nationality! As far as network television that I enjoy, you have Person of Interest on CBS, and Modern Family on ABC. There used to be more, but I don't flip on the tube as much these days.
  12. I joined last June, I think to argue about Man of Steel. A few unnamed members annoyed me to the point of avoiding the site for the next few months before wising up and returning.
  13. So there is more of it. What does that say about quality, at all? I do like the guy playing Sherlock but it all feels unnecessary.
  14. I know what you mean. It has a lightness to it, whereas Handel and even Bach at times has the heavy-handedness that would come to define classical and romantic tradition, particularly in German music.
  15. I think I first discovered this site in early 2011. I didn't start hardcore lurking for news and whatnot until late 2012.
  16. He wrote some colorful music, didn't he? I'm very partial to his 22nd symphony.
  17. I only knew Josh during my lurking days. May he poll in greener pastures.
  18. Shutting up is not enough. He should be strung up.
  19. Yeah, the infuriating "epic" chords rear their ugly heads!
  20. This didn't feel like it was giving away all the highlights though. The whole tone of the film just seems competently funny.
