  1. Nearly 2 years on since we heard the main title performed live at E3, the soundtrack album is now available. Plenty of Old Norse in this one with both the deep registered male choir and the beautiful female solo voices taking prominence. Album starts and finishes really strong. Aside from the main title, 'Memories of Mother' and 'Valkyries' are immediate personal favourites.
  2. Thanks for the reminder, @crocodile! Giving LW1 a spin. Haven't played the LLL set enough recently!
  3. Is Greenaway definitely the conductor for Solo? I see he is listed for it on IMDB but they're sometimes wrong. Powell did afterall conduct his last film 'Ferdinand' himself but I suppose maybe he felt Greenaway's experience would be needed on this? Or maybe he felt he needed to be in the booth with Howard and the producers?
  4. Managed to grab a stalls ticket. The above tweet from the lso might give hope for more dates, or maybe not...
  5. The film was OK. If I was younger and hadn't seen similar/better films I would probably rate it higher. The score on the other hand is fantastic. The choral work is great, reminiscent of Da Vinci's Demons. Plenty of variety in this one, not sure whether it beats 10 Cloverfield Lane for me but we'll see after a few more listens. Apparently a fourth Cloverfield movie will be released nearer the end of the year. Would be nice if Bear continues with the series.
  6. Well, I went through the entire set in just over a week and it was a lot of fun. Barring the Spielberg albums my favourites were American Journey and Summon the Heroes. That said, there is so much to take in that I'm sure that some of the others will gain in appreciation on repeated listens. I think the Gershwin album was pretty cool and I knew nothing about his work going in although I had heard the name. Anyway, the set was money well spent as far as I'm concerned having only owned the Spielberg stuff separately. Is this all the Sony albums that have been released? Also, does anyone think a collection of the Philips stuff is likely or possible? If you get it at that price you are very lucky!
  7. I was just about to post this myself! 10 Cloverfield Lane was pretty great and this film is possibly in the neighbourhood of Europa Report so I'm expecting good things from Bear here.
  8. Nice little sale. A.I. is down to $25. I went for that along with Stepford Wives and Passion of the Christ.
  9. Yep. I think this is what often happens with these type of card slipcase boxsets. One of the drawbacks of not getting the original albums.
  10. The booklet is nice and thick but I don't think it is anything special in its own right. There is a 5 page general overview on Williams career titled 'John Williams - Working Musician and Celebrity Composer' by Steven Ledbetter. This was also in German and French since this is the EU edition. There're also a few pictures that feel familiar (probably reused) and the rest of the booklet is simply the tracklist and album cover for each album.
  11. Received this today. As someone who only owned the three Spielberg albums this was a no brainer. I'm going to go through it in order. Some stuff I'm familiar with and some that I don't know what to expect at all. Quite exciting really. Plus the Box looks pretty damn nice on the shelf!
  12. Outlander Season 3 is being released on the 9th of February. Some nice long track times on the tracklist here: https://itunes.apple.com/us/album/outlander-season-3-original-television-soundtrack/1329110941?app=itunes

  14. Nice to see some love for Colossal. The finale always gives me goosebumps and when I finally saw the film it was great to see that it worked great there as well. Also, don't worry, I think Outlander Season 3 OST will be coming out fairly soon.
  15. https://www.billboard.com/biz/articles/8085427/billboard-200-chart-moves-star-wars-the-last-jedi-soundtrack-the-beatles The Last Jedi OST debuts at #12 on the Billboard 200, #1 in Soundtracks. It sold 44000 units (41000 traditional album sales) in its first week of release. By comparison, The Force Awakens debuted at #5 on the Billboard 200, selling 100000 units. $100000000 net worth and rising!
  16. I received my pre-ordered cd in the post this morning (a day late) and in case anyone is wondering, this is indeed the digipak version. https://www.amazon.co.uk/Last-Jedi-OST-Tbc/dp/B0758KSWZK/ Kinda annoying that the jewel case version only appeared on the site in the last few days...would've gone with that if I'd known in advance.
  17. I've never come across anything. As far as I know, Bear often releases 'album versions' of his work. I remember it being a bit jarring re-watching the BSG finale after becoming so used to the music on album. The BSG La-La Land albums are gradually going OOP (Mini-series, Season 1 + 2 already gone). I know there was talk of future releases so maybe they'll release more content. If you really want something it wouldn't hurt to put a request in. https://twitter.com/bearmccreary https://www.facebook.com/BearMcCrearyOfficial/
  18. This site might be useful. I use it to help track my overseas orders. http://en.trackitonline.ru/?service=track When it hits London and is 'imported' the royal mail site will then have some info when your package is on the way to your local distribution centre and from there the parcel is normally delivered the next day. Anyway, in this particular instance my concern stems from the tracking only showing the pre-shipment message which makes me think there has been a snafu early on in the process. Just wondering if anyone else has the same.
  19. I don't think afraid is the right word. LLL always in my experience provide great customer service. I do however have a recent bad experience though in that my ET order wasn't sent/had to be sent again so it ended up taking nearly a month to get to me (LLL orders usually take around a week). Would be a shame if something like that happened again especially for this particular order. Just wondering if anyway from the UK can confirm if the tracking is working.
  20. Ordered right when they went on sale and received my "LaLa Land Employee3 has sent you a package" e-mail a few hours later, but for the past 2 and a half days my tracking hasn't moved. It just says the initial status of " PRE-SHIPMENT INFO SENT TO USPS, USPS AWAITING ITEM". Has anyone in the UK got their shipping notice and has it moved along the process? Getting a bit worried that something is amiss
  21. I went for it along with Rosewood and Millennium 1 & 2. A LLL sale is a joyous occasion!
  22. They must have been delayed or cancelled. The listings on Amazon Germany are no longer live/active.
