I actually think a lot of big-name Hollywood actors are fans of John Williams' film scores - after all how could they not be?

I wouldn't mind seeing Spielberg collaborate with either James Newton Howard, Thomas Newman or Elliot Goldenthal. I'm sure he'd bring out some more really good music from these disparate composers.

Boston Meet Up, though the release of PoA must be a close second.

Okay then - it's a deal.
So long as you understand that I won't be watching it at all...

But still too crap to watch on a regular basis though, right?

Well this show has just started screening in Australia over the last month but I never had time to watch it (it's still screening I think). What did viewers who caught it think? Worth watching later (maybe on DVD)?

Yeah, I really dig it too, especially the ending. Very professional, very sophisticated sounding

What, only six nominations for Best Score? Didn't they once have almost ten? Talk about covering your bases - and hardly any of them got nominated for an Oscar! LOL
Where's the link to the rest of the noms? Ta.

I voted for Willow but I'm also quite partial to Field of Dreams as well.

And all of them beautiful, eh K.M. ?

But I don't like the idea of Spielberg permanently attaching himself to the one screenwriter though... Esp. one who would at best be referred to as 'above mediocre'. Spice it up, Stevie-boy!

Neil! You took the words right out of my mouth! I was going to say pretty much the same thing in response to Falstaff and Marc! Oh well, I'll have to think of something else to say...

How about: this new teaser poster sux! Oh waitaminte, someone's already said that too.
(Although I do agree - it's bogshite). I much prefer that fan art of Hayden with the mullet from that other thread.
Oh and The Prick has got it going on with his ideas. Love 'em, so well done sir.
How could George have knocked back this design sketch? ? ?

My rant was as much affectionate homage as critical dismissal.

Yeah, Oprah should host the Oscars.
She could discreetly mention how she was Oscar nominated for The Colour Purple everytime she introduces a presenter e.g. "And now, Academy Award nominee HaRRisON FOOOrD!!! (crowd goes wild). How ARE you Harrison? How does it feel for YOU to be an Academy Award NominEE? 'Cause you know I was nominated for an Oscar. Uh-huh. For The Colour Purple, directed by my good friend Steven Spielberg. Notice how I say my 'good friend' because my bestfriendGALE in my bestfriend (she's getting stood up on a date later on in the show - y'all by sure to watch that, OK?). And as a special treat for all of our fabulous guests here today (did you know that a recent survey definitively stated that I have THE Best-Dressed, okay, The Best-DRESSed audience on television). Please, applaud. You deserve it. Anyway, as a special treat for all of you wonderful people, I want you to have a little look, a little PEEK under your chairs. (I love it when they squeal like that, Harrison, don't you?) Yes, that's right - you all get to take HOME, to take home with YOU, your very own OOOsssCCaaRRRRR!!! How awesome is that??? Donated by the good folks at the Academy... Don't go anywhere - we'll be right back. (What's that Har? They were supposed to be for the actors and technicians? Oh, they'll understand!"
CYPHER - How could anyone think this is a bad idea?

Hehe, i had long hair till Firday till it was all chopped off. But then the stupid hairdresser left a mullet on me, and I didn't even know until my mum was tackling me with her scissors...
Dude, that is so funny! So your mum fixed it right? No more mullet? LOL Let me know how it went, okay? Bloody hairdressers!

I'd like to see the film next.

Marc, just pull your finger out okay and watch the bloody thing!

Hey, that's what I said!
I disagree - the aforementioned score is one of my faves of his. Very solid, with a high degree of 're-listenability.'
