I've got a feeling he'ld bring in more then just the "music" to court, and would instead bring Music Theory Ideas and interpretations.
-
wow, thats neat, I've never seen pictures of Johnny as a kid, or even a young man for that matter.
-
I think they mean memories is an unreleased theme from AI
-
I've never seen any of MNS's films, but what I've heard from JNH is definitely brilliant, I'll probably start collecting more JNH scores soon.

From the Sound Clips on itunes, I can say this for each track:
Wow, the string section in Confrontation with Ogilvy preview was pretty bad
The Epilouge was a little better,
But what is with the Chorus seriously accentuating each note in Battle of the Heroes, it doesn't sound right
MoaG sounded a little better
Prayer for Peace sounded nice
ditto for Minority report
Gosh, the Terminal's performance is really bad, more accentuating every single note too much...

So do I need to buy less scores, or watch more movies?

I was thinking of doing this while studying for my US history exam, unfortunately I didn't have enough time to do it properly. If we start from the beginning, Sumer or even the Neandrathals, I probably wouldn't be able to use music from a historical movie, I'ld probably use something like Jim's New Life to temp-track the technogical advents made during the Sumerian era.
-
Single most, I would say is Hook, nearly ever track presents a new theme.
-
I agree, I don't really think another Rocky movie is necessary, but if Stallone thinks this might ressurect his career again, then I suggest he give it a shot.
-
ToD or PoA, but I'ld probably say ToD, I really want that cue that plays during the bridge sequence.
-
It's just jwfangirl, right?
nope, its just me
Jwfangirl turned 14 according to the birthday thread. -
I agree its a great score, and I guess I would consider it millitaristic, but I still think of it as more of an action score.
-
Same here, rediscovering a score is almost as great as initially discovering one. Just recently I rediscovered Jurassic Park, my first score.
-
My best piece of advice, get into a zone. Completely block out any noise or images with the exception of the piano, yet relax at the same time, don't stiffen up your fingers, and make sure that before the recital you warm up your fingers with simple scales, and other exercises. Its worked everytime for me so far.

check out the times... I didn't see you post, that's what happened both times

I thought the ESB re-recording was neat, especially actually having a Han and Leia suite, but some of the performances were a tad weak.
-
Is it just me or did I just hear a little Lord of the Rings in the score...
trying to survive an hour of PotC -
Mcneely's re-recording of Jaws was pretty disapointing. But the re-recordings of ESB and Psycho I find pretty good.
-
right, which means we'll never know
-
yes, he seems to have no problem rejecting a score if its not what he wants, but then again maybe Silvestri's PotC was just that bad. And if its only because of the sequence that was supposed to lighthearted he could have just had Silvestri rescore that section.
-
Its a shame we can't have more Silvestri action films then we already have. I haven't delved into any of his more comical scores though, are any of those any good?
-
I thought WWC was schelduled to be released this year?
-
I see, so its George Lucas's version of every note Williams wrote.

There's actually a really cool unreleased bit in TPM where the Federation March and a part of The Imperial March play at the same time.
wait, so the UE isn't Complete!

Yay, a film about gravity, which means Einstein and relativity and maybe even string theory has to be involved, I'm already loving this film.
