yeah, i read that book a while ago, the stone could turn lead into gold and gave the owner immortality, and was made by someone named Nicholas Flamel

Okay. Williams' "rip-offs." What are they?
futuremartymcfly replied to Bowie's topic in General Discussion
i don't know if I was imagining things, but i'm pretty sure i heard the Jaws theme during a scene in Moby Dick, where the whale is charging to the boat, I may have been involuntary associating the music though, lol -
i haven't heard any, lol, i've been trying to get the Reivers though

The worst score by an A-list composer...

just wondering, but how are you definining an A-list composer? -
What is the Last Film You Watched? - Part II
futuremartymcfly replied to Lurker's topic in General Discussion
it might have just been that I was in the mood for what a movie titled Phantom of the Opera sounds like it would be, lol, instead of a movie were every line is sung. And I was also watching it with my brother and father, which only added to the unintentional comedy, though. -
What is the Last Film You Watched? - Part II
futuremartymcfly replied to Lurker's topic in General Discussion
saw two and a half films yesterday. The first, Phatom of the Opera I could only make through the first half, which included fast forwarding a good majority of the Singing, which was way too constant for me. I mean there were singing about a Note! then we changed it to Twins which very good and very funny. Then later in the day i watched Jaws: The Revenge, which was actually more enjoyable then Phantom of the Opera, lol. -

yes, the King Kong sequences were just too over the top, and pretty much showing off what ever they could handle. And in some parts it looked like they tried to go a little too far.
-
wow! this show really took a huge turn with last nights episode, i'm suprised nobody posted on it. It is totally up in the air as to wether this whole thing is a dream now.

yes, definitely let the humans intelligently bring weapons this time

Best '70s Williams Score: Round Seventeen
futuremartymcfly replied to robthehand's topic in General Discussion
I really hope you are not refering to CE which is easily one of William's best (if not the best) not only in terms of effectiveness. And hardly most boring , definitely NOT the emptiest. I consider the SW as a Bible of the scores , Superman is the New Testament . And I'm running out of books in terms of CE , I hope it will win. The book where CE3K swallowed a puzzled piece and the Man in the Yellow Hat had to take it to the hospital. LOL, no it was a joke, lol i was referring to I can't vote yet -

of course not, but IMO my respect for something decreases slightly when i hear it riffed from somewhere. i wasn't detered by the noise at first, but for me, listening to gladiator changed my entire outlook on Pirates, and then completely waned after listening to Cutthroat island, and realizing the difference between Synth and Orchestra
-
i've always considered that part of Battle of Endor III tracked (thus the poorer quality), i didn't realize it was actually re-composed, but i guess it actually does make sense.
-
i also wouldn't consider the Tie Fighter attack to be development of the Rebel Fanfare, just some extra battle music placed between statements of the Fanfare
-
lol, listen to the rock and gladiator and your opinion of pirates will completely change; that is if you weren't already detered by the random noise of synth
-
but isn't it like a special edition sheet music of william's scores, like for orchestra or something?

Best '70s Williams Score: Round Sixteen
futuremartymcfly replied to robthehand's topic in General Discussion
as i said CE3K is a great score, just a little bit dull in some parts. Then again my top seventies scores list is a little eskew, lol, with star wars in third place. -
Did you hear John Williams at the NCAA championship
futuremartymcfly replied to JoeinAR's topic in General Discussion
I'm a Gator Fan , and i know that in football season the gators play the Jaws theme alot but i didn't know they played empire of the sun after championship, guess i'll have to watch for it when i watch the game on tivo oh boy, highlight Joe's message, lol -
hmm, i'll reserve this post to put together a score for later, all i know is that everytime i made a new account on a forum i would creatively play the Back to the Future theme... ok for this week lots of Back to the Future Gators Win the NCAA championship A huge, highly anticipated addition to the online game i play is finally added after nearly a years wait I get an awesome score on a test and I finish my first composition
