well i guess it depends on how hated Smithee was, if there were people that really really liked him, then yeah Zimmer would be the new Smithee, but if not then i wouldn't say that because Zimmer has a pretty large fan base

What is the Last Film You Watched? - Part II
futuremartymcfly replied to Lurker's topic in General Discussion
Just saw King Kong last night, and i have to say the Jurassic Park is a million times better in almost every way. The tension, believabilty, overall directing, and even special effects. Not only did the T.rex's and raptors look way cooler in jp, but there were some places where the people looked like they were standing in front of a screen with all the action going on in it. Also, one question: How in the World Did they get Kong on that boat?!! -
i think he's confusing the original imperial theme, and the new one, LOL

LOl, i was expecting to see John Williams has died this morning

hmm, at least this post still might be true, as i was reading through the whole thread looking at all the dissapointments..
-
definitely the brass theme, a JW classic adventure theme
-
yes, but the UE is way too loud, sometimes i have a quite classical melody, or a poorer quality song and i have the volume really loud just so i can hear it, and then all of sudden action music comes from out of no where at a really really loud volume. Thats probably during the era, though, where Murphy was a little off, and you can definitely see the quality differences in his soundtracks in those years.

yes, ROTJ is the weakest of the three original star wars scores, but look at what your comparing it too, LOl

Rare Film Sheet Music For Piano Solo
futuremartymcfly replied to adamtron's topic in General Discussion
wow, great idea adamtron, there are quite a few cues i've always wanted to play on the piano, and the miracle of the ark was definitely one of them, and although some of the statements of the ark theme were, as magical me said, underwhelming, the finale with the chaotic frenzy music was great. All you probably need to do to fix the ark them parts, is maybe put in a few more dominant chords in the left hand. I also greatly enjoyed the terminator theme, even though the actual orchestral perfromance isn't to my taste. Keep up the good work. -
