  1. It's new. So apparently, it must be the best.

    - Marc, who doesn't think so.

You are completely right, in the summer of '02 every kid my age thought ATOC was the best movie ever, but then TTT came out and ATOC became the worst, i'm sure something similar will happen with GOF.

Just wait until the 5th movie. It's an 850 page or so book. That should be fun to condense into a 2.5 - 3 hour film.

    Tim

Well if there's a better director it can work, im sure more formidable tasks have been done well.

  2. Ok, i'm almost ready to vote, let me type myself a quick theme vs. theme analysis and then decide. (Themes 1 point each, Finale 1.5 points, Remainder 2 points)

Raider's March v Flying: I would have to say flying is barely better. When i heard it for probably the millionth time in the middle of E.T's halloween, i still got the chills, something i don't get anymore from the Raider's March. This theme is definitely pure magic

Nazi vs. Government: For its effectiveness in the film, the Government theme. I remember being a little kid and was scared of E.T., and this theme really made it much scarier, especially during Invading Elliot's house. It was so effective i could remember this theme before the Darth Vader theme.

Over the Moon vs. The Ark: this was a though one but, The Ark's theme is just absolutely amazing, probably the most majestic/horrifying theme William's has ever composed.

E.T. and Elliot vs. Marions Theme: Hands down Marion's Theme

E.T. Finale vs Raiders Finale: very easily E.T, the Raider's finale is too sudden and abrupt, even though it utilizes the Arks theme, but E.T.'s finale is again pure magic and is imo the best finale ever.

Remaining Score: Both scores have their duller parts (which is where ESB would have one, it after leaving Hoth it doesn't die down for a second), but Raider's barely edges out here. The Miracle of the Ark and the Dessert Chase are my two of my top ten favorite tracks ever.

Well Raider's wins my vote with a score of 4 to 3.5

  3. As i posted somewhere else i thought that the fourth film was the second weakest of the seiries (behind COS). The score is not bad, but not amazing either, but i must say I love doyle's arrangements of Hedwig's theme, and they provide a listen almost as good as Williams'

    :music: Invading Elliot's house

  4. Well, i can tell for sure that John Williams has at least one son, Joseph, who is a member of some band and helped Williams with Lapti Nek, and did some work in the Lion King. I can also tell you he has married twice, his first wife died during the eighties. His father was a jazz musician and music was important to everyone in his family. Thats really all i can say, hope it helps.

:music: Far From home, E.T. alone

  5. This Friday I watched The Goblet of Fire and i would have to say it is really overrated. IMO the whole thing was way to rushed, and the directing and editing wasn't very good. What annoyed me the most was the way the kids completely over reacted to everything, that drove me nuts, and i have to agree with many people here the score doesn't help the film, but at least the only thing you can remember after the movie is Hedwig's theme, which i believe was used gerously enough.

    :music: Desert Chase :music:

  6. If he does i'm not going to able to vote for a real long time, i have very few of those scores, and it will only be extended an extra day because i predict AFI's #1 all time score pick Star Wars to be voted off first round, in order to enhance the poll.

-still deciding... Main Title: South America 1936
