  1. For those of us who are not in the know, what am I supposed to be looking for when I look at a spectrogram? I’ve seen them in multiple threads but have absolutely no idea what is what.
  2. Unfortunately will be out of town on family vacation until the 9th but plan on going to see the film that weekend!
  3. I love the MCU but this just screams desperate to break Avatar's record.
  4. My Top 5 JW: 1. SW ANH 2. SW ESB 3. Superman 4. E.T. 5. Hook Top 5 non-JW 1. Fellowship of the Ring - Shore 2. The Two Towers - Shore 3. Return of the King - Shore 4. Star Trek Wrath of Khan - Horner 5. Braveheart - Horner
  5. Me (and most of JWFAN) if they announce a three disc HOOK for the 500th release...
  6. Sounds more like you're bored and have nothing else to do?
  7. Ugh, not singling you out in particular, @Luke Skywalker , but it does irk me when folks complain about double-dipping. I get it that there are a few instances where say a movie was released on blu-ray and then a month or two later it gets a "deluxe" treatment with bonus features, etc..., but with the case of movie scores, subsequent releases are for the most part a vast improvement over the prior release(s). Complaining about double-dipping on soundtracks to me is like saying you bought these back in the day... ...so therefore you're hesitant to shell out coin on this release? To me that doesn't make much sense. LOL In the case of Monsignor, it was released 12 years ago, went OOP, and was no longer available to the masses to purchase. Even if I had purchased the 2007 release I still would have bought the 2019 release without giving it a second thought, not only for the unreleased music but also for the improved sound and Matessino involvement.
  8. So now that Monsignor is off the list, does this possibly mean that more 80's expanded releases are coming this year? Certainly trending that way...
  9. Another one bites the dust! Hopefully Intrada will re-release SpaceCamp as well this year in expanded form. Now that the '70s have been well represented as of late with expanded releases the '80s need to feel the love as well! Monsignor was a good start and another quality release by Intrada and Matessino. http://www.intrada.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=12&t=8108&start=45
  10. Both sound great to me, although unfortunately I do not have the best home audio equipment.
  11. The new music is somewhat similar to what was already on the 2007 release, but still nice to have everything included conveniently on one disc. Also, props to Intrada, this came in a box with an ample supply of packing peanuts to prevent damage. No cracked case and no broken teeth!
  12. Just picked this up at the mail box, sounds fantastic so far! Ten minutes of unheard music per MM's notes.
  13. @TheUlyssesian Many thanks for posting this video! I have to admit I got a little misty-eyed watching that segment, I'll need to set aside time to watch the whole thing. I honestly feel that we'll be hearing this tune at various occasions for the next 100 years and beyond. A true modern-day classic!
  14. You're right, I thought A.I. was 2014 but it was in 2015.. Releases like 1941, EOTS, & A.I. certainly paved the way for the future releases and established the pattern we've seen since then.
  15. If recent (2015 - present) patterns tell us anything, it's that non-marquee, single disc scores (Stanley & Iris, Cowboys, Monsignor, SPR) are released earlier in the year and the "tentpole", multi-disc releases (Home Alone, Jaws, JP, ET, CEOTK, Dracula, SL, HP) usually come out September - November time frame, Superman being the exception. Hook would definitely fall under the latter category, both in score quality and demand. Far & Away is a great score but not exactly a great movie. I'm not as familiar with F&A but I believe an expanded release would be a 2-disc set? That might qualify it for a release later in the year. Same goes with Amistad possibly now that I think of it. A perfect contender for a single-disc, non-marquee release would be Always, I highly doubt we would see an expansion of that during Black Friday season! LOL Taking my detective hat off now, always fun to speculate!
  16. Anyone get this? If so how do the new tracks sound? Wish this was a CD release as well since I don't do vinyl.
  17. I picked this up last year along with Stanley & Iris for $11, I've never seen the movie but it's a good score!
  18. Per MM over at the Intrada board... Sorry to disappoint, but we had Jeff Eldridge update his notes for the new release and I just added the "tech talk" section. Mike M. http://www.intrada.net/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?p=81419#p81419
  19. Yeah I guess so 😂. For some reason I was thinking of expansion releases only.
