Dr. Rick reacted to BrotherSound in WAR OF THE WORLDS (2005) 2CD edition from Intrada Records 2020
The same thing happened back in August:
It took 8 years to just sell the first 2,000 out of the limit of 3,000, so it's going to be a long wait.

If you think about it we've been blessed with some excellent releases in the month of October recently.
2017: E.T.
2018: Dracula
2019: M.R.
2020: WOTW
All are either sci-fi movies with some spooky elements or horror type movies for the Halloween season.
Could we see Witches of Eastwick, The Screaming Woman or Images in October 2021? I can't think of any other yet-to-be expanded works that would fit in the Halloween mood.

Wow weird! I dunno how I managed to forget that one when making that post, nor how nobody else noticed I forgot it either. Fixed now!
Yea, it was recorded before the cutoff - The film opened June 23, and Mike's post says the cutoff date is is July 3rd

Really @Jay ? Was this intentional to leave WOTW off at the time to throw us off the trail?
I thought it was completed just before the cut-off date?

Monsignor and The River - she does every Intrada title since Joe Sikoryak retired a couple years ago (Joe did Jaws, Jaws 2, and SpaceCamp)

I'm pretty sure you posted this two hours ago...

Yeah, that's true.
It's Jay's trademark proofreading, where he leaves one error as an easter egg to us.

Intrada did that earlier this year with The River with a running time of 79:32.

Dr. Rick got a reaction from Chewy in The Official La-La Land Records Thread
I didn't think they would have any for October since WOTW is coming out next week by Intrada. I'm sure they have this all mapped out so they don't overlap each other and steal any thunder away from another label's release.
Besides, they're saving up for BF!

Dang, my spidey-senses were definitely tingling yesterday! Just had it in the incorrect label thread

None of these specialty labels finish a title then just "wait" for a calendar to roll over before releasing it
They license what they can, when they can, then it takes an amount of time you cannot predict to make it, then it takes an amount of time you cannot predict to get approved, then once it is all finally approved it goes off to get pressed and then released once that's done. They invested money to make each title happen and they need to receive income to make back that investment ASAP so they have money to license more titles.
Now all that being said, there are obviously exceptions, such as Spielberg specifically requesting Mike revisit CE3K and ET in 2017 and SL and SPR in 2018. Those projects were fast tracked by all parties including the people who have to approve things to hit in their anniversary years because there where theatrical re-releases of those films in those years too.
Or another one, LLL planned 2018 to be a celebration of 80 years of Superman and 40 years of Superman: The Movie by releasing the scores to 4, then 2/3, then 1, but 1 got snagged by the pesky approval process and didn't come out until February 2019, missing the 40th anniversary.
And there are of course many times when they try or would like to have something come out on an anniversary year... and if it works out that is great, but it often ends up missing the anniversary due to approvals,
In the end, getting the music out to us is more important to all these labels then it landing in some year that is x0 or x5 years after it came out.

I expect Varese will go with this one:

Dr. Rick got a reaction from Molly Weasley in WAR OF THE WORLDS (2005) 2CD edition from Intrada Records 2020
I just figured it wouldn't say "music from the motion picture" like OSTs do. Guess I'm just used to seeing phrasing like "Extended Edition", "Archival Edition", "Deluxe Edition", etc...
Would've like to have seen "15th Anniversary Edition" on the cover, oh well, it's the music that counts, right?
EDIT: Looking at other JW Intrada releases, they have "music from the motion picture" on Jaws I & II and The River, but Monsignor has "Expanded original motion picture soundtrack". I must have consistency people!

Yes, this is now officially the latest expanded release of the JW discography, replacing HP Prisoner of Azkaban from 2004.

Fantastic news! My ears must've been burning when I commented on the streak of JW/SS releases since 2014 yesterday! Can't wait to hear samples! Thank you Intrada!!!! Screw you, COVID!!!! LOL
Already made my space for it!

Dr. Rick reacted to JohnnyD in WAR OF THE WORLDS (2005) 2CD edition from Intrada Records 2020
Having read H.G. Well's original novel, I was not really a fan of George Pal's 1953 film. Steven Spielberg's adaptation is a thrilling and chilling contemporary update that is faithful to the spirit of H.G. Well's work (it also does not hurt that the opening and closing narration are nearly verbatim from the novel, and the portrayal of the tripods and the red weed are taken directly from the novel). Not to mention the amazing special effects by Industrial Light & Magic and Stan Winston.
I cannot wait to get this so I can experience the chilling and tense atmosphere of the Maestro's entire score.

You should reconsider. The Maestro's score is very tense and packs a punch in the horror/action sequences.
I suspect the entire score is over an hour and a half of music, so it may very well take up two CDs.
