JWFan was born 25 years ago today!

Hard to imagine back then that the site would still be up and running two and a half decades later, let alone that the Maestro would still be active after having composed nearly thirty more film scores and a similar number of concert works, as well as conducting over 200 concerts including Vienna, Berlin, Milan and Japan!

Dozens of his film scores have received perfect releases during all this time, providing fans with the confidence that many more will come in the future, while maintaining and further enhancing the collective appreciation and admiration for the music we all love and which will remain with us for the rest of our lives.

The analysis and discussion of his work has reached such level of comprehensiveness and detail, that our forums have become an essential reference for fans and scholars, while fomenting the creation of fascinating projects that expand and deepen the study of the Maestro’s oeuvre and contribute to increasing its appreciation by future generations who, without doubt, will continue to ensure that his name is in the place it deserves in the history of music and cinema.

Thank you, Mr. Williams, and thanks to all those who have contributed during this time to make the site such a wonderful place. Here’s to 25 more!

Correct a better way to say it would’ve been that it’s not appropriate for this forum. I apologize. I was saying it as in there’s no point in bringing it up because I know you guys will have a completely different opinion than me and there’s no point in a discussion where we will vehemently disagree. The topic itself is worth a lot of discussion but yes this is a Game of Thrones sub forum on a John Williams forum so it shouldn’t be brought up. I’m only still going on about this because of responses and the fact that George said it.

And I hate to keep responding to these posts but I think it’s valid to defend my reasoning and not come across the wrong way. That said I still think it’s absurd to be acting like how he is in his blog. It’s all good to be upset about what’s happening but as I’ve said what bothers me is how he is acting like we are living in the worst state we’ve ever been in. Better access to viewing events of the world doesn’t mean that the world itself is worse off. And it’s his decision at the end of the day to look at this stuff if it bothers him so much he can put the computer away. The events themselves have been going on for centuries and factually have decreased in extremity in recent years. It’s my opinion though and again there is no point in arguing about this since you guys won’t change your minds and I won’t change mine. I was responding to what I thought was an over-exaggeration and excessive complaining from George which he has been doing more and more lately. He is a generally bitter person anyways so I’m not surprised he has an opinion like this. His blogpost wasn’t about having access to seeing this stuff anyways it was about the events themselves and I personally don’t think what’s going on in the world recently is is the worst that has gone on in the history of the globe hell even the United States. I do respect his and y’all’s opinions though and I can understand why people think this way.

The Sugarland Express LLL: after all it's the 50th anniversary so that might change Williams mind about it
Born on the Fourth of July LLL: if Tom Cruise had time to agree to the visuals of the UHD release he might as well have took some time for the expansion
The Terminal LLL: 20th anniversary is a perfect time for a complete release
Cinderella Liberty Intrada: Williams seems to love that score and Intrada is working on at least two Williams so this one would be the best candidat
The Rare Breed Intrada: after Denève recent statement I like to think it's really coming

Unfortunately I don't think JFK is happening anytime soon given that WB is apparently closed for the labels

The Patriot and Nixon (on Intrada) and Catch Me If You Can, Seven Years on Tibet and The Terminal are pretty good bets though.

Also Born on the Fourth of July. This year will be the 35th birthday. Let's hope Cruise will approve all of his pictures in time for the, well, fourth of July lol.

Hmm, let's see... Industry insiders who have dared to speak about it—anonymously, for fear of losing their jobs—have described writers' rooms being run by young, inexperienced, and marginally talented ideologues who prioritize political messaging over anything else...

But I suppose that if you agree with this, then it can't be part of the problem.
