Jeshopk. I think you have taken this a little out of hand. That BBC theme, took a lot of skill and time to make it what it is, it's not something you could just knock off in a day or two. There is automation, and a lot of effects that take quite some effort to get right. It sounds to me like a labor of love. Now consider this, the idea of the beeps was probably from producers. They wanted something that had beeps and a beat, on a second cycle. Thats the one they chose, and in TV themes as a rule, they get hundreds of submissions, they pick what is most what they want. Even Mike Post and Bill Conti have rerecorded great themes, after the pilot, because it wasn't quite right Thats just the nature of the beast.

Now let me start by saying, I am not a prude at all, that I do cuss often, in real life, and sometimes online. I don't frown on cussing as such, although if I had children and they cussed, I would be horrified. Anyway, my point is, I loathe cussing in films, I find it gratuitous. I don't like hearing it, no matter what kind of film I am watching. It makes me cringe. It's not needed.

As a rule, it's best not to use any EQ on any recording, since the Mastering Engineers have already done that part. If you listen to music on high end equipment, you will understand why. Using an iPod or some similar device, you are hearing a false reproduction, that may need some EQ, this is just a band-aid type of solution though.
