  1. Conan the Barbarian: "But in the rage the god forgot the secret of steel and left it on the battlefield. And we found it. Just men. Not gods, not giants... just men." "No one. No one in this world can you trust. Not men. Not women. Not beasts... This you can trust." "All that is left is a father's love for his child." Pirates of the Caribbean: "Gentlemen! My lady. You will always remember this is the day that you've almost caught captain Jack Sparrow!" "We thank you Jack." "You're welcome" "Not you, we name the monkey Jack."
  2. I think that Don Davis would be great choice. He could make a dark, atonal action music, heroic music if it is needed and, what's more important, music which would create specific atmosphere of the film. Aghem, who love Davis' "House on the Haunted Hill".
  3. Very sad. Band of Brothers, X-Men and Highlander were great. I agree, he will be missed by more than few. Rest in Peace.
  4. Some more clues to my one. There is an old man, his daughter and weird family of her fiance.
  5. Glory Here is mine. Loneliness, death, penfriend, wedding, on the road, a drawing.
  6. I don't know if it was discussed before but here is something I found reading A.I. booklet. William Ross, who adapted and conducted music to Chamber of Secrets, was also responsible for orchestra arrangement in For Always song from A.I.
  7. Hmm, I'm waiting for the "Return of the King" and have hope that there will be also at least one more score worth listen to. Have anyone heard if Thomas Newman is scoring anything? For the "FotR" and "TT"... I have been really disappointed with the first one. What I don't like most are choirs. There is too much of them! When I saw Lorien scene and heard the music I didn't know if I should laugh or cry. Choir for Nazguls, choir for Gandalf on the top of Isengard, for Balrog, for Lorien, for Boromir's death (there is more). Almost every supernatural or magical moment is scored with choir music. And these moments lost their magic cause I become used to the music and so to them also. I can't stand it! Thankfully the Ring and the Fellowship have instrumental themes... I like "TT" far more than "FotR". It's more varied so the choirs have greater impact, it has Rohan theme, Treebeard motif and other motifs I also enjoy. I think thas Shore has improved on music to "LotR" and so I'm waiting for "RotK" Aghem
  8. I really don't like the prequel trilogy. I remember I have been frustrated after watching TPM. The only good scenes are the beginning (when Qui-Gon and Obi-Wan are on the Federation Space Station) and fantastic lightsaber duel between Obi-Wan and Darth Maul. I have wondered where was a myth in that film? Sudennly the Force isn't mysterious like magic, but becomes connected with small creatures living in blood... What is that supposed to be?! A joke?! It's hopeless example of Lucas trying to SHOW ALL he can. And the battles at Naboo... With such good visual effects Lucas couldn't create something better than battles on Hoth and at Endor? Even the Geonosis battle in AOTC is in my opinion much worse than the Hoth one. Yes, there is many Jedi, many explosions, many robots, many fantastic effects and... no emotions. Prequels are almost entertaining action movies, nothing more and the old trilogy is very entertaing, funny, sometimes dark and reminds me fairy tales and myths. Waiting for Episode III I can tell only one thing. I have very bad feeling about this... But at least we will get another excellent score from Williams!
  9. That's really very hard to choose that ten! But I'll try! My favourites (but only for this short moment) are: 1. Saving Private Ryan 2. E.T. 3. Hook 4. Amistad 5. The Lost World 6. Return of the Jedi 7. Indiana Jones and the Temple of Doom 8. Close Encounters of the Third Kind 9. Schindler's List 10. Images
  10. Land Race all the way!!!!! It's so amazing! I didn't see "Far and Away" but I simply feel the space around me, wind on my face and the adrenaline in my veins listening to this piece! AWESOME!!!! Aghem
  11. That's true! And Roald, try to always look on the bright side of life! (whistling ) Sometimes it's very hard, but just try it! As you see, we are ALL with you! :? Aghem, who have fallen in love with one wonderful girl and is too shy to tell her, what he feels... bawling
  12. That's unfair! They are both wonderful! I can't choose one! Aghem, who finally chose E.T. (today I like it more, tomorrow it will be Schindler's List! )
  13. He also played in 1941?! WOW!!!! Thanks Beowulf! Aghem "The March from 1941"
  14. I heard once that Spielberg had played the clarinet in Jaws! In "Montage" (or in "Promenade" on OST) exactly. Do you know if it is true? Aghem, curious.
