  1. So Peter is basically Sylar except his power is far less useful? Sweet! Justin - Who now has a Heroes desktop.
  2. Red Dragon. A good film but it just seemed like the film (the third Lector movie) really should have been about catching Lector and not another random (but interesting) serial killer. All the performances in the film are outstanding especially from Ralph Fienes. The last 15-20 minutes was rather cliched and action oriented for such a philosophical build up. Although it was a good twist. I was really impressed with Brett Ratner's skills. Skills which would have helped X3 if he'd flexed them like he did here. Phillip Seymour Hoffman is also good. Score is great. Better than Hannibal but still is not on par with the original Silence. 4 out of 5. Justin
  3. Good job, Ray. No seriously, Sylar and I had pegged right from the begining of "Six Months Ago". Although in an add it looked like they were saying that Peter Petreli was Sylar which I thought was more of a surprise than what really happened. Which would have been interesting in a strange kind of way...I mean it seems like they have very simaler powers... Justin
  4. I'm officially hooked. This weeks episode was my favorite yet. The advertising is awful. I despise it. It's so intense that it makes the show sound dumb. "For a show with surprise ending.....you ain't seen NOTHING yet." Justin -
  5. Dark City. A great idea which just seemed poorly executed. Too short, I can't say I liked the lead role, Kiefer Sutherland was hamming it up, and the strangers were about a scary as the coneheads. A thrilling score and some interesting visuals along with a great performance by William Hurt and a fascinating concept grabs it a 3 out of 5. Justin
  6. The proud legacy lives on... Finished recently... The Lord of The Flies (William Golding) A Game of Thrones (George R.R. Martin) In the midst of... Contact (Carl Sagan) Just got from the library... A Clash of Kings (George R.R. Martin) Shadow of The Giant (Orson Scott Card) Justin
  7. The trading board would be a good place to start. - Marc, who thinks that should be blindingly obvious by now. You know I don't think I have ever been to that place in my 5 years of membership here. Justin - Who now knows why...
  8. There certainly was very little explanation about the words. Which was what the adds said the episode would do. Oh well. Not that I was expecting many questions to be answered. Justin
  9. Option d) Written and Directed by Brian De Palma Bilbo: Josh Hartnett Gandalf: Rebecca Romijn Music: Ryuichi Sakamoto Bilbo meets Gandalf a down on her luck stripper who erotically teases him with here sensuous body only to frame him for the murder of seven people. She abandons him and he spends 7 years in prison. He breaks out and finds here in the dwarven porno industry where he finally seeks revenge on her. Lots of gore and sex. After he kills her, he's sent to a mental institution where he lives out the rest of his days having terrible nightmares. Option e) Written and Directed by George Lucas. It sucks. Justin
  10. Caught With Your Pants Down - AC/DC Cover You In Oil - AC/DC Let's Get It Up - AC/DC Hard As A Rock - AC/DC Let Me Put My Love Into You - AC/DC Inject The Venom - AC/DC Got You By The Balls - AC/DC Ballbreaker - AC/DC Dirty Deeds Done Dirt Cheap - AC/DC Any of those will work. Justin
  11. The show is very linear to me. Not much change in quality over the 6 years that I have seen. Season 4 is good in parts, bad in parts. Just like Season 6. Justin
  12. Strangly enough, the film is Not Rated. Justin - Who will tire of this very quickly.
  13. Downfall. As good as the first time. 5 out of 5. Justin
  14. Apprently next week is the week to watch. Justin - Who thinks the show has a lot in common with The 4400.
  15. Apparently they hired an unknown actor to lead the cast... No one has ever heard of any of the cast or crew members. Richard Donner is directing. Justin
  16. I may actually buy this score. I saw an add for the film. Superficial over-the-top CGI waste. Perfect for a Silvestri score! Justin
  17. Save the cheerleader. Save the world. Justin
  18. Day of The Dead. A film with the potential story for a fantastic action/horror movie. Sadly the film is hindered by poor performances (save a few), a rather unfocused script, and extreme gore. It has a few great ideas in there but they are very hard to pick up on. I do really like the opening shot of the film though. 3 out of 5. Donnie Darko - The Director's Cut. This version takes an already brilliant film and lifts is several notches higher in my book. There is so much about Donnie Darko that defines what the craft of intelligent filmaking really is. Each individual viewing is unique in the conclusions you draw from this film. It's an incredibly complex film with an overtly simple backdrop. Yet it's also a simple film at it's core sorounded by complexity. Brilliance. 5 out of 5. Jackie Brown. Tarantino's strong visual style and ability to write intriguing dialogue; coupled with strong performances all around (specifically from Jackson and DeNiro) are what makes Jackie Brown an overall strong film. The story isn't exactly complex in any sense of the word and the end is rather anti-climactic. It's no Reservoir Dogs or Pulp Fiction but fans of Sam L. and Tarantino should definatly check out Jackie Brown. 4 out of 5. Land of The Dead. There are several common weakness's throughout Romero's Dead films. Weak characters and dialogue, a strange distracting fetish for extreme gore, and often unfocused script writing. There is actually quite a lot I could say about Land of The Dead. At it's core the film is once again based around several great concepts and once again it fails to really deliver due to poor performances (I can't really think of any "good" ones, there were a few adequate ones) and an unfocused script. My biggest problem is that right from the begining the zombies weren't scary. It's like watching a monkey work it's way across a tire swing, slightly interesting but overall just not scary at all. The film is incredibly short for story of this size and it really hurts the film especially the "invasion" which is not impressive in any way. The film kind of suffers from T3 syndrome in a way. I was really looking forward to this film, almost a rallying point after the disapointing Day of The Dead. So much for that...I just hope Romero can flex his creative muscles with the stylistic change in Diary of The Dead. 2 out of 5. Justin
  19. I didn't like One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest the first time I saw. Loved it the second. Justin
  20. I pretty much agree with you marc. Although the first 20-30 minutes are pretty good. Justin
