  1. I don't know what to think about that. Not someone I'd even considered.
  2. Oh right. Totally forgot. That's ok, it's a forgettable film. I haven't seen it yet.
  3. Williams doing a Pixar film would be amazing (his first animated movie?), but I'll believe it when I hear it.
  4. I didn't think they would go for an older choice, going that literally with Dark Knight Returns. It's strange and not consistent with the young Superman they just introduced.

  6. This is great news. It's hard to believe we'll be getting a new Star Wars score from Williams.
  7. That comic was a huge disappointment unless you look at it as some kind of weird satire on the first book and the subsequent grim n' gritty trend that it created. And even then it incomparable to the masterpiece that was The Dark Knight Returns.
  8. Unbreakable followed by The Incredibles. Incidentally, these are also some of the best superhero movies of the 2000's.
  9. Agreed. The Hobbit had a few issues but it was nothing close to the prequels.
  10. The Hollywood Reporter says there is a tentative plan for a Flash movie in 2016, and then get Justice League out in 2017. They're laying the groundwork, and they're not going to jump straight from Batman/Superman to JL. I don't doubt that, it just seems like one and a half years is pretty short to make a Superman/Batman movie. Especially after Nolan's Batman just ended.
  11. This is probably the best way to introduce a new Batman for the Justice League movie, but I can't help but feel it's too soon. A 2015 release window feels rushed to get the fire kindled for JL but it concerns me that it will make for an inferior product. It makes business sense for Snyder and Goyer to remain in charge of it but they don't inspire much encouragement either. I liked Man of Steel but it had a lot of issues and I've never felt that Snyder was right for Batman.

    John Williams.
  14. Saw this last night. I enjoyed it but it definitely has some problems. The pacing of the film wasn't very good, a flaw that other Zack Snyder movies share especially Watchmen. I kind of wish it had a more linear narrative structure because the interspersing of the flashbacks, while containing good bits, breaks the rhythm too much. I dug some of the quieter moments of the score but more often than not it was exceedingly loud and grating.
  15. Very unexpected, very sad. RIP
  16. I was not very impressed by the trailer. I really wanted to be and I enjoyed the first movie but this had some problems. The main one being the CGI, which did not look particularly great and made the thing look even more cartoonish which was an issue I had with An Unexpected Journey. I understand that the source material is lighter than that of other Tolkien works but there's way to do that in a film without forgoing tactility and blowing up every scene to huge proportions. Hopefully the CG will be greatly improved by the time it is released.
  17. Beginning of "Hook-Napped". The scales recall the waves of a turbulent ocean.
  18. It's remarkable how contrariant your views can be. Season 4 has a shaky beginning but it picks up considerably as it goes. By the time you get to the first Gob episode its firing on all cylinders.
  19. Lucas is a fascinating figure and more than a little bit tragic. His success was never fully his own.
  20. Main theme and Force theme. There will probably be a lot of other cameos but those are the two that are totally guaranteed.
  21. I gotta say that I enjoyed this movie despite how stupid the writing was with all the fan service in the last act (and that the character arc with Kirk is largely a retread from the predecessor). What saved it for me was the immensely talented cast, where pretty much every person is great in their roles, and the visuals, score, and action set-pieces. It's certainly inferior to the first but I think the series still has potential for a successful third film if it gets made.
