  1. The Post was nominated for a Golden Globe while TLJ was not but I guess that’s because it missed the deadline.
  2. The BFG? I think it deserved a nom even though the film flopped.
  3. It sounds too weak and underdeveloped for me to believe it’s Williams... especially after hearing a bit of the FYC. They don’t seem to go together.
  4. Do any other FYCs with original music contain an end credits suite? Maybe end credits music isn’t allowed anymore since it’s not part of the film proper?
  5. You may have a point there. The FYC version was heavily edited, had inserts, and much shorter than the OST version.
  6. I haven’t heard “Battle of the Resistance” on the FYC but 2 minutes seems very short for a battle cue. What are the chances it’s longer on the OST? Does it appear to have a clear beginning and end on the FYC?
  7. This is why I’m waiting for the OST to hear the music. Fifty minutes of hacked up music (from an Abrams film no less) isn’t a very desirable listening experience to me. I’d prefer my ears get used to the full OST tracks (hopefully) instead of film edits. I’m willing to wait for OST and not spoil my last JW SW experience with a FYC. After JW departs SW, I will have no interest in the future SW franchise.
  8. Based on what I’ve seen and heard about this film (rumors), TLJ comes across as a stand-alone film than a middle chapter.
  9. I listened to the first four tracks but I stopped until I listen to the OST as I want to hear the music in high quality for my first listen. What I’ve heard so far is absolutely excellent, though. As someone else said, it sounds very inspired and not as if Williams is on autopilot... unlike certain parts of TLJ and even TFA. It’s really good so far and I can’t wait to hear more. I have to keep reminding myself that this FYC is only 50 minutes of a 2hour, 10 minute film (minus the credits). I imagine the film will have wall to wall music.
  10. I’d be very surprised if the Emperor’s theme doesn’t appear in TROS without some choral element.
  11. The music in TFA was still buried for the most part, too. There were parts that sounded almost mono. The “Burning Homestead” bit was nice and loud, though.
  12. Still no word on who's doing the music?
  13. The fan made edits of the PT (a few of them are quite good) is enough to satisfy me until official releases come to fruition.
  14. I saw another TV spot on Freeform tonight which used snippets of “The Asteroid Field” but I couldn’t tell if it was a new or existing recording.
  15. I don't think it sounds like Williams but I'm usually wrong about this sort of things so I'm going to say it's Williams.
  16. How many different TV spots have they put out now? I feel like I see a new one every commercial break.
  17. She definitely has a history of lying. For instance, she adamantly said Fisher wouldn’t appear in IX.
  18. I’ve listened to the music in this clip a few dozen times already and I think it’s great action music. However, I feel like either Williams is holding back a bit or maybe the music is mixed too low for my tastes. Granted this only 30 seconds but I miss the days when Williams would ”over score” simple scenes such as To The Plaza, Presto. It’s a silly chase scene through the streets of NYC but Williams music makes it rather exciting. Even when Kevin stops to buy necklaces during the chase, Williams keeps the music at a 10 and doesn’t hold back. In the TROS clip, the music gets lost at points and I struggle to hear any details but maybe it just can’t compete with loud SFX. Regardless, I’m hoping to hear this piece in full on the OST.
  19. It's okay. I wish Alan Menken was attached to this series. I believe he was at some point when it was called The Snow Queen but I'm not sure what happened.
