  1. La La land is selling this for 14.98 for a couple weeks...in case this was unknown. Ordered mine today...(never seen the movie or heard a note of the score-hopefully we'll get Big Adventure someday!)
  2. A few weeks ago I was thinking "Man, it would be great if they re released the La LA land Elfman Batman scores...perhaps even a combined release" And holy hell my day dream came true! Ordered it today (along with Big Top Peewee).
  3. Well, I'm sure glad I paid triple the price a few months ago!
  4. Love this score, from start to finish. The OST is so brief compared to this, so if you are a fan of the score at all-the expanded disc is a MUST.
  5. After reading through all of the nearly 300 pages, I feel like I can now chime in. THE FURY-John Williams Having only discovered this score a few months ago, it has quickly become a favorite of mine. "For Gillian" is one the highlights for me. THE SECRET OF N.I.M.H.-Jerry Goldsmith I really adore this score. I'd only seen the movie once a long time ago, and a recent rewatch has elevated my appreciation for the score.
  6. "He isn't in ROTJ though. That's just a generic Gungan voiced by Matt Wood of Skywalker Sound." OK, whew! That makes me feel a whole lot better.
  7. Fantastic night! Loved the whole show (MacFarlane part being the only lull), and was surprised and delighted with the multiple encores. My 2 favorite parts involved the choir-"Call of the Champions" and "Dry Your Tears, Afrika". Before, I just thought those pieces were "okay"...but now - holy crap-those performances blew me away!
  8. We just don't need Jar Jar in ROTJ either...
  9. Tintin for me. It's the one I come back to the most often. War Horse was not that far behind. Lincoln I'm warming up to, as I like it more and more. The Book Thief I need to give more attention to-I don't think its bad, it just hasn't left much of an impression on me...yet.
  10. Well now that the Star Wars saga will continue, there is no real need for the "Victory Celebration"...it made more sense since that was considered "the end" at one point. I enjoy VC...but I voted for Yub Nub...
  11. A toss up between JP and Hook. Jurassic Park was the first Williams score I owned (on cassette), so I ended up choosing that one.
  12. A.I. for me as well. Moments from the score to me are some of the most beautiful pieces Williams has ever done. I hate that the OST has 2 wasted tracks with that horrendous "For Always". I really hope they release an official expanded score someday.
  13. I'm going to be different and say "1941"...mainly because I'm still digesting my somewhat recent purchase of the La La Land release. I love many of the others from the 70's just as much...but got to show some love for "1941".
  14. For anyone who has seen Williams at the Hollywood Bowl before, approx how long does the show run?
  15. Hearing the complete score in chronological order gives me a greater appreciation for the music. It makes me wonder how much more I would like other scores if they were complete. Its still hasn't become one of my absolute favorites, but I'm definately glad I have it.
  16. JP definately for me. I like TLW, and have grown to like it quite a bit more over the years. If we should ever get an expanded release of TLW, I'll probably like it more. But JP was my first JW soundtrack I bought (on tape), so its hard to beat the nostalgia factor-
  17. The tracklist shows a track called : "The Plane"...but doesnt indicate that its previously unreleased. However I don't see it on the OST. What am I missing here people?
  18. Ordered! Anyone notice it shows 19.99 when first clicking on the icon? Then it shows up as 29.99...got a little excited at first:-(
  19. I think the only true answer to this is - maybe
  20. Thanks everyone for the suggestions. I'll definitely look into these. Didn't mention, but I have bootlegs of Earthquake, Poseidon Adventure. The Cowboys, and Images. Currently they are just a little too pricy to get official releases. And Towering Inferno and Eiger Sanction are at the top of my wish list. But again, thank you!
  21. OK, over the past several months I've gone on a binge of JW soundtracks. I have every score from 1975 to the present, including all of the expanded editions. Pre 1975 i have "The Reivers" and "Jane Eyre". Also I have "Summon the Heroes" and the 2002 Winter Olympics, as well as the Spielberg/Williams collaboration. Now aside from the scores I do not own, what other essential Williams works would JWfans recommend? Thanks in advance for the help!
  22. ??? Slightly disappointed that's it not 5 or 6 others I desired more. I enjoy the OST, and wasn't really in need of an expansion. But I'm sure I'll be thrilled with it when it comes out...
  23. Slightly disappointed, but of course I'll still get it. Does anyone know how much music is missing from the original release???
