  1. Caught up on LOUIE. I also saw a little bit of FARGO. Didn't look half bad. Seems like it has an appropriate cast, rather than a bunch of pretty hacks playing ordinary people.
  2. They go out of print quickly? Depends, I think. There are three versions of OBSESSION from Arrow: limited edition (comes with the poster, script book, reversible sleeves), standard and then some sub-standard version with no extras. The limited edition is on it's way out, but the other versions will still be available. Arrow's a pretty nice company, almost as good as Criterion. I wish they'd do more 2k and 4k transfers. I also like their reward program.
  3. Wooooops. Sorry about that. Thanks for the heads-up, filmmusic.
  4. Finally bought this, after reading that it'll be out of print soon: Includes a bound print of Paul Schrader's original screenplay and a poster. "That eerie sensation that you've seen a stranger before. Everyone's experienced it. Call it déjà vu... this man calls it terror."
  5. Sure is, which is a shame. One of my favorites. Up there with the Cliff Robertson school of actors.
  6. WAGES OF FEAR is the better film, but SORCERER does look amazing on blu-ray. Scheider was top-notch.
  7. E.T. (Williams) JURASSIC PARK (Williams) AN AMERICAN TAIL: FIEVEL GOES WEST (Horner) BACK TO THE FUTURE (Silvestri) ROBOCOP (Poledouris) THE TERMINATOR (Fiedel) GHOSTBUSTERS (Bernstein) BATMAN (Elfman) THE TROUBLE WITH HARRY (Herrmann) STAR WARS (Williams) I'm glad my parents didn't really mind ratings. I don't think I'd be as bright as I am today (in some areas) if it weren't for that.
  8. Never understood why fan boys cry over plot leaks for upcoming films. If you don't sniff around, then you won't have it spoiled for you. Plain and simple. The spoilers aren't any different from what we already knew. It takes place 22 years later, it's a fully functional park, and some there's some mutated dinosaur running around. And, surprise surprise, everything goes to hell again and people die. Interesting interview, though. It seems like he wants this to be an intelligent picture rather than a boneheaded blockbuster. That's promising.
  9. This may be the best thing I've read here since joining. I raise my glass to you.
  10. THE WAR by Ken Burns Burnsy's documentary style, by using still images for most of it, isn't exactly mind-blowing. However, his documentaries are always engaging and, in a way, invaluable. This doc is worth seeing for the interviews alone.
  11. These "baffling implications" just go ahead to prove that the writers of these films had no idea what the fuck they were doing.
  12. "Quit film school... watch Hitchcock films." When the student loan deferments wear off, I'll be wishing I did that...
  13. LAWRENCE OF ARABIA? I really hope so. After all, they released Jarre's A PASSAGE TO INDIA not too long ago.
  14. What a shame. Pixar films deserve Ottman music.
  15. I hope John Ottman scores this one.
  16. http://www.npr.org/blogs/deceptivecadence/2014/05/24/286891544/a-few-words-with-ennio-morricone Nice interview. Covers his early work and his work in contemporary culture.
  17. It came along with a book by Douglas Gordon called "Feature Film". Certainly not worth purchasing at this point because it goes for $1150 new on Amazon. I doubt the used copies would have the score attached to it. Pretty rare, but I'm sure it could be... erm... "obtained"... Here's a sample on YouTube:
  18. James Conlon's VERTIGO re-recording is good if you want the entire score. I love the haunting cues in the hotel.
  19. I'm actually not a member over there. I've got a friend who's an E.T. fanatic and he posted it on his Facebook timeline the other day. What's the community like at Bluray.com?
