  1. Meh. I hope David Arnold returns to the franchise.
  2. I'll gladly sacrifice Williams-conducted concerts if it means reserving all his energy for film scores. As for Ep. VIII and beyond, maybe they'll do what the prequels did and track TFA music into VIII and IX so Williams doesn't have to labor so hard. On second thought, let's not do that again...
  3. Thank goodness the internet exists so I don't have to watch some sport I have absolutely no interest in just to see a trailer! That's some strong acclaim for a film trailer. Possibly the reveal of Luke?
  4. Take solace in knowing that if it sucks, it's still not as long as Attack of the Clones.
  5. Could very well explain why he didn't look/sound good in those videos introducing concerts a few months ago, and possibly why they're still recording TFA. Seven weeks out of action is a long time.
  6. JJ Abrams says Disney has kept its hands off The Force Awakens He also apparently said he has *a* final cut of the film already (as opposed to the final cut?). The "talk" in which he divulges this information is nearly an hour long, which I don't have time to watch - and thus cannot provide relevant time stamps - but I'll link it below if anyone is interested.
  7. Just saw a critical Youtube review of the Beta that basically says it's Call of Duty with Star Wars skins. I'm not a fan of the CoD multiplayer gameplay, and it apparently won't feature a single-player campaign because gamers are more interested in multiplayer matches these days (I say it's just lazy development). Oh well, I'll save my money for my ticket to see The Force Awakens in IMAX.
  8. Maybe he means there will be less "filler" episodes between the intensity this season. I agree though, it has been quite good since they left the prison.
  9. Well that only took 6 seasons... I wasn't that impressed with it, but I like the direction they're going with the whole going out to sea thing (we'll see how long that lasts).
  10. Yes, that's exactly what LucasArts did with The Force Unleashed, a mix of Williams and Williams-esque action music. Stands to reason Electronic Arts would do the same thing with Battlefront.
  11. We're practicing expressing our disappointment for when the real thing comes out.
  12. Remembering that car commercial a month or so ago that sounded convincingly like Williams, I tried Shazam to identify the music here. Shazam can ID the bit that's taken from ESB but nothing else, not even the End Credits that I think came from Ep. III (the slower tempo is why I say that), so maybe even that's new; but the likely reason is it's not a clean recording so it's difficult for the app to "hear" the acoustic fingerprint of the music properly. I'm more inclined to believe it's simply music created for this game by Not-John-Williams rather than TFA music, like what LucasArts did for The Force Unleashed games.
  13. Sounds like the End Credits portion was taken from the Episode III recording. I like the music in the first video better than the second - too much anvil in the second!
  14. Fantastic game with novel-quality character development (and great voice acting), better than many films. It's on par with Telltale's The Walking Dead series, in my opinion.
  15. With unversatile LA musicians, no less! Maybe Williams squeezed some versatility out of them, and that's why this score is so impressive?
  16. Always trust completely anyone who begins their statement with "you can choose to believe me or not."
  17. If I recall correctly, Anakin's Theme only appeared once after TPM: in the conclusion to Across the Stars in the AOTC end credits. Interesting - and kind of disappointing - that Williams scrapped entirely the segment containing Anakin's Theme for the concert version of the love theme.
  18. I didn't realize the new song was released this morning. Took a listen and...
  19. For the Craig films, I rather liked "You Know My Name", apart from the senseless screaming at the end. Whatever that song was in Quantum made me want to plug my ears in the theater, and I haven't listened to it since... "Skyfall" was good in that I could actually listen to it without my ears bleeding. The instrumentation heard in that short preview of the new song reminds me of the early Bond opening songs, and I wonder (hope) if they're hearkening back to the old Barry style with the film score as well. I'm not all that familiar with Thomas Newman to know if he's capable of that kind of scoring, but his work on Skyfall didn't really do it for me...
