Arpy reacted to Luke Skywalker in Jurassic World (Jurassic Park 4)
there are some ugly toys there...
Is there any reason why the idea of rubber dinosaurs (original JP and some TLW) and scaled accordingly to human figures was scrapped? They were very realistic i think. Or at least much more than the JPIII and on hard-plastic toys....

Arpy reacted to Taikomochi in Internet Critics (Nostalgia Critic, Spoony and others)...
Ah yes, how could I forget about Plinkett! I don't even agree with some of his reviews, but I have rewatched them all many times just for the humor. His Ep 1 and Ep 2 reviews are art.

Nostalgia Critic has misfired alot lately (Temple of Doom review) but I'm still a huge fan. Red Letter Media is easily the best of all internet critics, their reviews mix humor and serious analysis extremely well.

Sounds like one of those JW track titles as the finale of the album: Rape of Childhood (Reprise)

Arpy reacted to KK in Michael Giacchino's Jupiter Ascending (2015)
Because signed copies are usually gone within the first few hours or so.

How many john williamses in there!

Arpy reacted to Uni in Michael Giacchino's Jupiter Ascending (2015)
Yeah, but . . . Williams didn't. JW had been composing for television and film for more than 20 years before he reached the period for which he's so adored. At this point, Gia's been at it just about as long, and is just now about the age John was when he started penning his classics. What has he done in the time leading up to now? Super 8, The Incredibles, Up, the two Star Trek scores, John Carter, and now Jupiter Ascending. What was John doing in the time leading up to his Golden Age? A Guide for the Married Man, John Goldfarb, Penelope, Diamond Head, Valley of the Dolls, and the likeāand with far more formal musical training and experience.
My point is simply that there's huge precedence for thinking Gia's best years could still be ahead. If people expect him to be the next John Williams, he should at least be given the chance to become the next John Williams in the same fashion and time frame the last John Williams became the current John Williams.

Arpy reacted to Balahkay in E.T. is listening to the Prequels
I love TPM and it's definitely the best prequel score, but I agree that the OT music is better. Williams kind of reinvented the Star Wars sound for TPM and it's the music that makes the film "watchable" to me... even in it's hacked up form.

Arpy reacted to Dixon Hill in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' SCORE speculation
That IS complete cynical nonsense. You're not born with a set number of ideas spinning around in your head.

Arpy reacted to Dixon Hill in Star Wars Force Awakens FAKE trailers and pictures thread
That's... not real.

Am I the only one who feels like it's just the Sarlaac scene, slightly reworked?
-
Arpy reacted to Unlucky Bastard in Star Wars Episode VII: The Force Awakens (JJ Abrams 2015)
Really? I think the effects they yield are breathtaking. And they've never "reminded" me that there's a camera. It's a natural light effect that often makes an image look more interesting.

Boy that sure was some music. Felt like someone was about to fall into the Sarlaac pit.

Arpy reacted to TownerFan in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' SCORE speculation
The great thing is that it's scored like a piece of true film, and not with generic random "epic" trailer shite.

Arpy reacted to Sharkissimo in 'Star Wars: The Force Awakens' SCORE speculation
From that opening polychord I knew it was Williams in STAR WARS mode. Loved the percussive cluster at 0:22 and the agitato strings.
Loved it, though it's only a fragment.

Yes, the teaser was shite, but we half-expected that didn't we?
On more important matters: the score. From that opening polychord I knew it was Williams in STAR WARS mode. Loved the percussive cluster at 0:22 and the agitato strings.
