  1. Very much enjoyed it Maurizio. As an orchestral trumpet player myself, it was really great information coming from one of the best in the business. Thanks again for putting those podcasts out there.
  2. I actually purchased high res files from HD tracks. I don’t really need physical CDs if I can avoid it.
  3. How can anyone not like this? Yes, obviously based on a JW theme, but the setting is incredible . And the amazing playing of (mostly) the LSO
  4. I would also vote for a symphony. I don’t think he has any desire to put that much work into an opera. Plus, I hate opera.
  5. I totally agree with you Jay. I guess they had to rush the ending to not make it a 3 episode thing. But overall not bad. I was wondering why I wasn’t getting the same vibe music wise as last week. But then I saw McNeely did it. It wasn’t bad, but as you said, not as good as John’s score, which was fantastic. All in all, I think it’s a show that deserves as many seasons as the best ST shows. Visual effects were stunning for a tv show.
  6. Thank you for another great listen Maurizio. And also for the warning regarding the alternate fortress of solitude. I will wait for my cds to be ripped and put on some headphones for the first listen of this release.
  7. I use shuffle in my car to play through thousands of JW tracks that are on my phone, on my way to work. My drive is about 30 minutes each way. Never know what you’re going to get. But it’s always good. At least the sound is good as my phone plays Flac through a Dragonfly USB DAC. And my car has a 9 speakers Bose system.
  8. I forgot to mention. There's actually only 1 thing that bothers me a little with the score for the last episode, Mad Idolatry. At 1:25 or so of the track Searching the planet, Mcneely uses the exact notes heard at 0:16 of the track Leaving Home from STM. Even the rhythm is basically similar. I don't mind the hommages, but to me this one seems a little too close.
  9. I completely agree with your assessment of these scores. I find them highly enjoyable to listen to, with or without the visuals. Hopefully it was a good enough commercial succes to motivate them to release other seasons.
  10. LP 78 is my format of choice these days. At 5 minutes per side that would make for a mean box set.
  11. Exactly. Can't ask for anything better than this. Now if employee 3 could hurry up and ship, that would be great.
  12. Honestly, i've never been "super" happy with the sound quality of the previous releases, so to me that $35 is more than worth it. Judging by the few excerpts I've heard, I'm totally confident that it will be money well spent. But to each his own.
  13. I did read that they were going to work over the weekend to get the sets out to people as soon as possible. Going to be such a long wait.
  14. Exactly. My post was made on the 22nd...so I guess it wasn't shipped on the 22nd after all.
  15. I was hoping to get mine today since I ordered within minutes of the announcement. Nothing yet
  16. I asked that question to Tom on FB and he mentioned CDs will be available. Probably from his website. He'll post a link when they're available.
  17. I guess I'm goint to Tanglewood to see SW. About 1000kms from where I am. Nice road trip. Hopefully they do ESB next summer.
  18. I just listened to it, that was great! Really looking forward to receive the set even more now. And also looking forward to part 2.
