Same thing happened with my JP order two years ago... first one was untraceable after taking 5 weeks, when I wrote to LLL they immediately sent another one, which arrived 6 days later, and the next day the original showed up. I inquired with them how I can return the spare, but never heard back, then I kinda forgot about it... so it's still gathering dust somewhere (the unopened package, that is).
My HP/SL is still sitting in Frankfurt customs, for a solid 7 days now. The excitement rises...
Chris, I would gladly buy your extra JP set 😀

Mine just arrived, got the shipping notice on the 15th, I guess it was pretty fast to make its way across the continent to Nova Scotia.

Man, Phil Cobb on trumpet is such a worthy successor to Maurice Murphy. He sounded great in SOLO too.
He's an incredible player for sure.

Who is conducting?
Wow that's a nice setlist.
I'm not sure who's conducting yet, they're finalizing details. Even possible that we'll tour the show in a couple of different cities in the area. They're hoping it'll become a yearly thing and that we'll play thdm all. I would be fine just doing the first 3 honestly.
This weekend's program is freaking awesome.
John DeLancie will be hosting.

I guess my orchestra, Symphony Nova Scotia, will be performing HP1 in May, to end our season. As principal trumpet that makes me very happy. Nothing better than some JW before going on vacation.
Speaking of JW, we're playing a sci fi/super hero concert this weekend.
Superman, Elfman Spidey and Batman, Goldsmith Supergirl, Star Trek medley and 6 pieces from SW (Main title, Leia, scherzo for X-wings, Jedi steps and finale, Rebellion is born, and Imperial march as an encore)
Pretty excited about this concert too.

As a trumpet player who worked on the JW concerto (unfortunately my orchestra, symphony Nova Scotia, in Canada is too small to perform it with me) I can really appreciate that a great player like yourself would want to record the piece. Especially with John conducting. This will be the reference version of this concerto for generations to come.
I will most definitely contribute what I can
Cheers

I like Chris Martin, he's an amazing player. But I prefer Tom Hooten's version of With Malice towards none. Maybe JW conducting the recording helped.
I'll be performing the trumpet and piano version in the next couple of months for a recital, and the Hooten version will be my reference.

Unfortunately I can’t make the 2nd night, as I have to be back home for some gigs and it’s a fairly long drive. I was thinking of possibly the very first row of the first balcony. Good compromise I guess. Probably what I’ll aim for.
Thanks

Good tip. What about seating? Any recommendations for best sound and view of the maestro and orchestra? I guess I’d like to be close enough, but not too close so I can’t see the trumpet players.

That’s awesome. Thanks.
Definitely looks like it’s going to be another amazing concert this year.

Anybody has programs from a few recent Film night concerts? Trying to guess what might be included. Obviously Rebellion is Reborn from TLJ. As well as other SW stuff. I’m guessing that since both JP and Schindlers have 25th anniversary this year, we might hear selections from both.
Thanks

I’ll be there this time. Been trying for the last 3 years. Something always came up. Keeping those days open this year. 600 miles drive here we go.

this is playing in Montreal April 8-9...
debating to go but it's very expensive (50-160$)
Is Montreal symphony playing? If I was still in Montreal I would go for sure.

I'm speechless. Unbelievable stuff. As much as I love JW,doing the same on trumpet wouldn't work as well. Horn quartet is an amazing ensemble to write for. Please tell me you have a high paying job in an orchestra. You certainly deserve it.
Cheers

Oh yeah. I wish you played in our orchestra...our principal horn is not really strong.
