Which just proves what we've been saying all along: Williams has stopped aging since the late 2000s, or has at least aged so little that the editing team felt confident they could slip '08 Williams in there and nobody would know it wasn't the Williams 15 years later talking about a 2023 film. If not us, Crumbs, then who? WHO?!

Cerebral Cortex replied to Sandor's topic in JOHN WILLIAMS
Congratulations on giving us something 10x better than what we got, Crumbs. This is the one I'll be using so thanks for making it. -

Would you say you prefer this scoring effort (as presented in the film, of course) over KOTCS? Or about the same? Thanks for answering all these questions and sharing your thoughts, by the way. -
Stumbled upon this thumbnail, which is an edit of this BTS photo from KOTCS, and had to do a quick edit:

Why is a large part of the Battle of Yavin not scored?

The entire battle is scored, it's just mixed REALLY quietly. -

Came across this and it made me laugh: https://www.discogs.com/release/11920678-John-Powell-The-Film-Music-Of-John-Powell-From-FaceOff-To-Shrek -
"New York, 1969 (From "Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny"/Trailer Version)" might be the clunkiest Williams album track title we've ever gotten. I haven't even listened to the track yet, but going off the title alone combined with the minute of action music in that one clip that was hard to hear, I'm ready to call this score a complete disaster. Very disappointing effort from the Maestro! /s

If nothing else, I'm really happy that at least people seem to be able to HEAR the score pretty well in the film. I'm so glad it sounds like it is noticeable enough in the mix to comment on. I'm honestly surprised that it's getting mentioned as much as it is. Now my excitement for this experience has more or less been tempered to just getting a new Indy score from Williams, but that alone is such a surreal experience that I'm still overly net positive on this whole thing.
