  1. I'd like to think that if TFA was the last Star Wars score Williams intended to do, he would have said so or at least have hinted at it by this point.
  2. Soundtrack-wise, I'm hoping for an Episode VIII score from John Williams.
  3. Aunt Marge's Waltz, from Harry Potter and Prisoner of Azkaban The Chairman's Waltz, from Memoirs of a Geisha
  4. Nothing really a celebrity, nor a huge shout-out but... Brad Alexander, one of the VFX supervisors on The Force Awakens, said this from the below article in reference to completing the shot of the Falcon for the film's first teaser: http://www.awn.com/vfxworld/halon-tackles-previs-and-postvis-star-wars-force-awakens
  5. Sorry for the late response. I was sitting near a heavily traversed spot on my campus studying and somebody walked by that was whistling it. As an inverse to that tale, I've been whistling March of the Resistance for the past 2 weeks (not very well, I might add) and I've been stopped twice by people who recognized it. One person knew it was from Star Wars while the other individual was able to recognize it more precisely as March of the Resistance. This led to us discussing the TFA OST for the next couple minutes before we both had to get to class. Felt weird discussing it publicly and away from a keyboard but certainly an enjoyable experience nonetheless.
  6. TFA's version is still longer than the one present in Empire's end credits. It doesn't bother me.
  7. Probably has already been mentioned but I feel that the tiny bit of music that plays when Rey is hanging over the edge within the base and Stormtroopers pass above her is meant to be reminiscent of the music that plays during the shot in ANH where Ben Kenobi is hiding behind the tractor beam as Stormtroopers are passing by him. Not sure this is the right place to post this notion but just something I noticed.
  8. Agree 100%. As I mentioned during the The March of the Resistance thread, this moment really stood out to me. That shot of the X-Wings from afar on the water as The Resistance cue starts bubbling in the background, the revolving shot of Han Solo as he exclaims that it's the Resistance, and then finally the cut back to the X-Wings as we see them flying on the big screen for the first time in over 32 years while perfectly coinciding with the explosion of the Resistance march was such an intense singular moment of enjoyment, both visually and aurally. Scenes like that is why I go to the movies in the first place.
  9. Skyy38 should be an inspiration to us all in how we should never stop trying even in the face of enormous opposition.
  10. Williams being hugged by Spielberg at The Force Awakens premiere.
  11. That could actually be really cool. Definitely liked the montage Edwards gave us for the opening to Godzilla so I'm hoping we get something.
  12. Thanks for the replies, guys. Have always been curious about the reception of the TPM score in its early days so it was great to hear from some of you about that.
  13. That's something I've really been wanting to ask you guys as I didn't have much of a virtual presence back in 1999: what was the reaction to score of TPM immediately after release?
  14. That is a really great bit, especially when watching the film opening night and there was this absolute silence from the audience after the main titles as we all waited anxiously to see what we were in for. Hearing that horn phrase immediately let us all know that Williams was back and in good ol' Star Wars mode.
  15. Batman V Superman Soundtrack Information and Preview Released Track Listing: First Preview:
  16. Honest to goodness heard someone whistling Rey's theme today and I'm pretty sure that's made entire my week. I so rarely hear public whistling anymore and for it to be a recent Williams piece... brought tears to me eyes.
  17. Completely agree. Definitely one of his most classical in quite some time. Bits of this kinda remind me of the 7:41 part of "Journey to the Island."
