I figured I should use my screen name rather than real name.
    Anyhoo, wands ready!

The HP1 teaser and trailer were recorded in LA long before there was even a cut of the film available for him to score.  The first teaser was in theaters half a year before the film was, something like that.

The score was recorded in London

Except for Azkaban, I haven’t listened to a HP ost for years, always the complete scores.

This is a fantastic look into his process. He even goes into listening experience vs chronological (which probably explains why some of the HP choices were made) and mentions bootlegs as well. He even goes into why digital releases don't happen.

Thanks for sharing @ATXHusker. This has really helped answer some general questions I have.

EDIT: There's a sneak peek into one his "future releases" promised in Part 2 at the end on this. Hope it's more Potter!

Okay, so more people are bothered by chronology than a handful of written POA cues that don't appear here. Fine.

Yes this is a nice film edit, how the rising melody goes into the flying car cue in the movie.

I don't really care about combined tracks as long as they don't cross fade cues, however I always prefer to listen to scores in chronological order, makes more sense thematically (but a cue here and there doesn't really matter).
But if you listen to the Lord of the Rings complete recordings, doesn't it make much more sense thematically to listen in chronological order?

I can barely even think of the LotR scores as cues in some order, it's a breathing fabric of melody and texture and it just is the way it is. Only one or two necessary evils dent it in RotK.

Just looking over the tracklist for the order when I see The Train Station and The Flying Car! Hell yeah, transition recreated. Aragog could've been merged with Spiders Attack, though. And mabe with Follow the Spiders while we're at that. And some other CoS pairs.

Its far from a deal breaker but I still don’t understand why things like this are done for “listening experience”. Maybe it came from Johnny himself.

I’m fine with it but I also don’t see the need for it. Seems like a change for the sake of a change.

I really hope the latter films receive this exact treatment that Williams scores did. It would be really cool if Warner had access to demos or alternates of cues from the scores that we don't even know about. Like, Hooper's scores as I recall, had no alternates in either of the sessions leaks...but I'm sure he was probably one of the composer's to have the most rewrites given how he was not as active as the other composers he was "competing" with. But I can see the downside, how many people would actually support Hooper's work and buy an expanded / complete set of his scores? Probably not as many as would buy Williams, Desplat's, or Doyle's...which is unfortunate as I think he put a great deal of effort into those scores.

Me: I gotta go somewhere real quick! No time to explain.
Girlfriend: Where? What are you up to?
Me: Never mind, I'll explain later.
    Girlfriend: No, tell me NOW!
Me: I gotta order Harry Potter! The soundtracks. The Complete Soundtracks...
    Girlfriend: You're kidding, right?
Me: No, babe. It's finally happening.
    Girlfriend: Then go! Go! RUN!

The conversation went something like this. My girlfriend knows me well... 😂

A very good choice, if you’re just gonna listen to one cue.

These hours seem to never go by.
I have friends for dinner to celebrate my birthday, tonight.
This means at 8:50 pm I'll mysteriously disappear in my room,
to reappear (hopefully smiling) a few minutes after.

It's okay, I already informed them why I'll go full-Invisibility-Cloak for a while.

Yep, 8 hours and 1 minute now.
