  1. I think peak Capaldi hair was around S9 really. Not too long, not too short. I did like that clip, but it it me, or is the prosthetic cap the hair is stuck onto a bit visible around the edges in this scene?
  2. I’m pretty sure the example tracks you’ve given are “Album-only” on iTunes, and unable to stream for Apple Music members, too. Unless they’ve bought the album, that is. it’s probably some kind of weird digital licensing thing
  3. I saw that... clearly a genuine reaction and not overdone as hell... clearly...
  4. Didn't he write a suite for Fantastic Beasts before he asked for the job? Seems like he was pretty interested in that film, at least
  5. Alan Lee came to our local Waterstones for a signing and talk a few days ago, so I got to meet him, which was very fun. I remember a few titbits about the production of the films, but there wasn't anything substantial... Apparently the bunny sled was something Guillermo del Toro wasn't convinced would work until he was shown artwork, at which point he liked the idea. I asked what it was like designing for the Del Toro version of the films, and Alan Lee said that it was great fun working with him, but that was a whole different story. Apparently the film would have been very different. (Though we could have easily guessed this 😛) There was also the odd (very polite) dig at using CG for the environments instead of miniatures, on the grounds that it was far easier to suggest ideas by interacting with the miniatures than directing the CG artists by pointing on screens.
  6. Is it me, or is the March which was replaced from the Attack on Jakku sounds related to the music when Hux mentions the resistance in the restored Parage Grounds sequence, which in turn sounds pretty similar to The Arena from AotC? (it's most likely me making connections that aren't there, and I'm sorry if someone's suggested this before!)
  7. I just found this review of the TFA score by our student newspaper... http://www.cherwell.org/2016/01/08/soundtrack-review-star-wars-vii-the-force-awakens/ No words.. "Rey does not have her own theme yet" ... how can you review the OST without even glancing at a tracklist? 😛
  8. Yeah, I've been loving Project Stardust recently too I've listened to Rogue One a lot recently too, and it has grown on me, though not to any great extent, so it's still a low 4* score for me. Although, there are some great moments sprinkled throughout, mainly skewed towards the final act.
  9. There's probably a reason I've missed as to why this is impossible, but would any of "The Arena" from AotC be restorable?
  10. There's something ridiculously awkward about the editing of that clip, that I can't put my finger on...
  11. Or is it more like getting a 298g steak, which is easily close enough to a 300g steak to be sold as such? Do you usually weigh out your steaks before eating them just in case that tasty extra 2g makes all the difference in value?
  12. And also - Lady Smallwood said she'd have a relaxing weekend unless "she" calls. Mycroft assumed the PM... maybe he's wrong... tricksy hobbitses
  13. I was 99% sure neither Downey Jr nor Douglas were actually replaced by CGI. A bit of augmentation in places, but definitely not replaced. There's no way their faces were fully CG, at least.
  14. Being really pernickety, with 1080p being (technically) 1.92K... surely there can't be "a lot" more information carried in 2k? But I do agree about 4k, obviously
  15. Whoa, that was definitely an improvement! I thought it started off shakily and was begrudgingly thinking it'd be like T6T, but boy was I wrong. Moffat has done a Moffat the way only Moffat can. And somehow it worked!
  16. The soundtrack for The Six Thatchers has appeared on iTunes/Spotify etc, listenable now
  17. Right guys, I thought I'd better give you a heads up on this, before one of you finds it and roasts me without me knowing... One of my friends had the bright idea of doing a soundtrack review series on youtube a few days ago, and I kind of agreed to it. I didn't know he'd ask me to film it on that day, as soon as I arrived at his house, with no time to prepare lines or audio clips or anything... As you can probably guess, I'm the one with (relative) taste in soundtracks, but as I'm a pretty shy and defensive person, I was a little more revering of my picks than I'd normally be, especially Rogue One, which I'd probably call "Mainly good" if I were asked now, but got a bit caught up in the heat of the moment. And yes, some of the things I said were mistakes, as you'll likely pick up on (from memory, I accidentally called Jedi Steps & Finale the best cue of the 2000s, instead of the 2010s) but as it was all done on the fly, it's likely to be extremely crap. Having never really done any pieces to camera before, I know I'm rubbish, and haven't watched anything from it since it was filmed... I hope you enjoy it but suspect you won't Please leave any feedback and/or insults below Here's a linky: ShowTrack - A Guide to Soundtracks - EP1 - Golden Sonic Awakens One Rogue Compass
  18. I watched the FotR theatrical cut for the first time either yesterday or the day before on ITV (I hadn't seen the film in the cinema due to being too young) and was also surprised how well it worked. I found the small edits in the Aragorn-Lurtz fight and a few other places was mystifying and a bit jarring, as I'm so used to the EE version, though.
  19. Just got a message from one of my 'friends' who'd just seen the film "Personally better than force awakens music" No, god, no. Please. 😂
