  1. I saw the film today. I liked the film quite a bit. I loved the cinematography. I too wasn't that impressed with the score. I want to give it another chance though. It may just need some getting used to as it felt like it lacked a poignancy that Williams would had brought.
  2. This is a huge relief for me. If there is to be another Indiana Jones movie, which is a risky endevour no matter how you cut it, I want it to be Spielberg, Ford, and Williams. If those three aren't on board I don't want there to be another.
  3. I just hope all went well and he will be okay for several more years. He's, unknowingly, played such a special role in my life.
  4. Although I can't think of many off the top of my head I have seen several movies where I thought they were trying to sound like schindlers list. Segments of enemy at the gates springs to mind.
  5. I'm looking forward to this movie quite a lot. I have no idea what to expect from the score. I thought I read there was going to be a title song but maybe I dreamed that up.
  6. Ok dumb question. Is this just the sheet music or is it also the cd?
  7. I would love to own a complete Jaws 2! But a complete Jaws is what I really want!
  8. Bingo. I get there eventually Although I can watch it. For me this is Speilberg's only real miss in his entire career.
  9. Irina Spalko, Mutt, Princess Leia. I thought Irina Spalko's theme was the best thing about Kingdom of Crystal Skull. It is (well, if not the best thing, at least one of the best things), but I agree with Mr. Big: it doesn't really fit the character depicted on screen. Why not? Unless you are saying there was more depth and intrigue to the music than there was the character. That I could see. I thought the music seemed to reflect more what the character was intended to be rather than what showed up on screen.
  10. Irina Spalko, Mutt, Princess Leia. I thought Irina Spalko's theme was the best thing about Kingdom of Crystal Skull. And I don't mean just the score.
  11. I don't understand what he's talking about either. It is like he is trying to appear smart by correcting his complaint with score that is already an important part of the movie.
  12. I know I've seen this on video when I was little but I can't remember anything about it.
  13. His comments regarding the ending of the empire strikes back. He has a problem with the serial nature of Star Wars.
  14. I just saw the final Hobbit film and have a question for you Tolkein experts. I haven't read any of the books. I enjoyed Lord of the Rings movies quite a lot. One thing that has always bothered me is if Gandalf went to the empty tombs and then later did battle with the 9 wraiths and even saw the great eye.....why was he so surprised in fellowship when he was reading about the ring of power? I got the impression he was learning about the ring, the eye, and the wraiths all for the first time. What am I missing?
  15. http://makingstarwars.net/2015/08/a-closer-look-at-the-parade-grounds-shot-from-star-wars-the-force-awakens/ There is a link for closeups of the new Star Wars shot. I was reminded by the Soviet Union because of all the weaponry in the shot. North Korea might be a better example though.
  16. I like how these look like photographs of something rather than some fake looking, over stylised crowd shot from the prequels. It reminds me of something out of the old Soviet Union. The entire picture actually feels cold. You can relate to it very easily. The prequels in many instances were beautiful to look at but they didn't have spark a feeling that could easily be related to. IMHO
  17. Only Jack could get away with that line.
