This is spot on. A film either sells itself to me or it doesn't. A critics rating is absolutely meaningless to me.

I have been deeply dissapointed by this series. So much wasted potential.

Are you saying when you hang out with your real life friends, you talk about Rotten Tomatoes scores?  Why?

I can't think of a single time I've ever looked up a film's IMDB score

I decide what movies to watch based on trailers, worth of mouth, and/or the previous works of the people involved.  That's it!

I'm always surprised that people in 2023 care about what critics think, or what any particular website's aggregation of data totals up to, or anything like that.

Maybe back in the 90s when you had to spend money to see a new movie in the cinema every time and didn't want to waste money on a film you didn't like when you could have seen a better one, sure, that was a different time.  But everything is just a few clicks of my remote away now.  If I see a movie and it wasn't that great, I don't really care that I spent 2 hours watching it instead of some other movie >shrug<  That's life!

I think the "best" expansion title should define an expansion who offered a totally new perspective on a score in comparison to what it was previously featured on the OST. Then it should offer a program and a sound that are enjoyable, so it implies that some editorial choices were made, and that they make concensus.

I am not sure. Even though these scores were out of fashion in the 70s the composers in the business had a skill level in classic composition, orchestration, conducting etc., that contemporary film composers often don't have. So, it was easier to revive that.

By the way, wouldn't it be nice to have individual cover art for the seven scores recently released by LLL?

Anna and the King expansion -- TWO options for this one! (I personally prefer the first because the second is obviously colorized from B&W.)

A Tree Grows in Brooklyn expansion

    Room 222 expansion

Prudence and the Chief premiere release

Only in America (aka The Best of Times) premiere release

    Nick Quarry improved re-release

A Girl Named Sooner improved re-release

So amazing to have nice individual covers for all of the Goldsmith at 20th series...

I just watched Andor over the weekend. To me, except for Rogue One, it makes everything else Disney has done look painfully simplistic. I'll be interested to see how it ties in to Rogue One.

And where is everyone complaining about politics in Star Wars now? I've been hearing crap about the (one!) senate scene in TPM for 20 years, but nothing now, lol.

As for Clone Wars, I love the breadth and imagination on display in that series. "Filler" episodes get a bad rap, in general. Our lives are not so laser focused and devoid of tangents, why should a show be? If I had a complaint (and it is a minor one) about everything that came after the OT, is that each new gap filled in by the story risked making the GFFA feel a little smaller. The Clone Wars, with it's ability to go from The Zillo Beast, to The Banking Clan, and back to A Sunny Day in the Void worked to make the galaxy feel big again.

George Lucas opened Pandora's box, when he brought back Darth Maul.
Since then this reanimation of dead characters, Palpatine, Boba Fett, Ashoka or even reanimating killed characters within one and the same feature like the grand inquisitor and Reva in the Kenobi series, has in a way destroyed the franchise by adding a certain ridiculousness to it.

Probably not the score. I don't know. I've seen the movie twice (once because it was at a party and we tore it to shreds - we were aviation students at the time) and that was 30 years ago. Maybe I should check it out.

I normally check to see if I'm repeating myself, but I don't care. It's snowing, it's 0F outside. It's the perfect day to listen to John Barry's The Black Hole.

I love Bad Batch and I'm very excited for the new season (even though it means the end of my vacation). Clone Wars is, like you said, very much all over the board. The last four episodes of the Clone Wars are truly next level and the best thing from the Prequel era by a goodly margin.
