Maybe most people don't care about HP anymore. I can't blame them either, but the days leading up to Black Friday, seeing the announcement appear live and the excitement that followed are days I won't forget very soon.

couldn't agree more. HP1 and 2 might have short tracks, but the scores just work incredibly well the way they're written. It's very dififcult to present 3 in the same way.

Yeah, I'm currently making my own HP3 edit, completely chronological but much longer tracks to make it more comfortable to listen to.

The City of Prague re-recorded Hedwig's Theme, Harry's Wondrous World and Nimbus 2000. Stay away from Hedwig's Theme.

There would be something satisfying about Williams recording what he thinks should be the whole score in June and telling JJ on the way out: "That's the score.  You're welcome." 

I don’t see how they could possibly be one-and-done by June.

I listen to the music and find it limits my enjoyment if it ends too quickly. I don't approach the music from the same cerebral angle that you do (which I have no problem with, by the way).
 
However if a short cue serves the film, that is all that matters, that is after all its sole purpose.

It's still amazing to me that the soundtrack collecting market was once so robust that a Jerry Fielding score could sell out "practically overnight"

Good stuff. When I read the thread title I thought you missed out on buying them, as where I'm from "lucked out" means "bad luck" or "missed opportunity"

On behalf of the James Horner Film Music association, I contacted LLL to not only let them know about the concert itself, but to specifically ask if they were interested in having the 20th anniversary album there. I even crafted a mini-poster template they could use for social media if they would like to. If they decide to use it, great, if not, that's fine too. In the end, they said they are indeed interested in having the album available on-site. 
 
We were asked by the New West Symphony to spread the word to our readers since...well it is a James Horner website after all.
