  1. I hope so! Could just be uninformed people saying "Oh, it uses JW's themes so it is definitely JW," the kind of BS we get every time a teaser is released. But particularly given the timing it is certainly possible. Fingers crossed!
  2. Well with TFA we had some leaked photos from the Making Star Wars blog on the first day of recording sessions. There may have been some other little tidbits by this point as well, can't remember. However, on balance, I agree that it's pretty normal to not have heard that much at this point.
  3. Totally, that bit has that lovely nostalgic tone that makes TFA's score so special to me. Gorgeous.
  4. Well, if they bring back Columbus, you never know... EDIT: Ohhhh, the remakes are going to be on Disney's new streaming platform: So presumably will be kinda low budget??
  5. Excellent! Broadcast live from Edinburgh Music Festival. Program: UPDATE: First encore is Imperial March. Second is presumably Superman!
  6. Well yes, but there are several passages that could be said to "adapt" themes from HP1, but nonetheless are significantly new variations that I would consider newly composed material, most notably the awesome fanfares at the end of "Reunion of Friends": The big question, in my view, is whether passages like that are JW. ("Hellgi" claimed this one was Ross's doing, but King Mark and I are skeptical.)
  7. Not a film score but by god this is awesome: The composer that replaced that theme in 2006 was even better: You may recognize him.
  8. A friend of mine was there. Apparently there was a whole second half that's not in the stream (incl. a bunch of great ROTS stuff).
  9. Gorgeous arrangement of "Rey's Theme"! I particularly love this middle section starting here:
  10. @Marc, wow, excellent Potter as well! Looking forward to the full arrangement, but this is already pretty great. Desplat's cue is gorgeous.
  11. Excellent!! Practically jumped out of my chair when I saw this recommended on YouTube 10 minutes ago. Favorite cue from one of my favorite Horner scores!
  12. All are awesome. The fanfare & theme just barely beats COTC for me.
  13. It is indeed possible that this is from TROS but is not from a recording session. Remember that JKMS is who creates the parts from JW's sketches, so they start to be involved earlier in the process than the sessions. (That's not to say this can't be from the sessions, just that that's not the only possibility.)
  14. Overall Life of Pets 2 is pretty heavily disappointing imho, given how awesome Desplat's first score was (a lot of 2 sounds super uninspired to me - I wonder if they had him chained to a temp track or something). Nevertheless, it still has a few excellent moments, e.g.:
  15. Here to end: Just discovered this cue this evening (and have listened to it about 15 times on repeat over the last hour - no joke). So joyful and exuberant. Feels very "modern," you can feel how North influenced more recent scoring.
