Yeah the photos were taken down quickly IIRC.

Well with TFA we had some leaked photos from the Making Star Wars blog on the first day of recording sessions. There may have been some other little tidbits by this point as well, can't remember. However, on balance, I agree that it's pretty normal to not have heard that much at this point.

What are the odds of Williams scoring the reboot?
Well, if they bring back Columbus, you never know...

EDIT: Ohhhh, the remakes are going to be on Disney's new streaming platform:
So presumably will be kinda low budget??

The situation is roughly this:
All the new music is Williams.
All the old music repurposed from HP1 is Williams, but adapted (to fit the film) by William Ross.
Well yes, but there are several passages that could be said to "adapt" themes from HP1, but nonetheless are significantly new variations that I would consider newly composed material, most notably the awesome fanfares at the end of "Reunion of Friends":
The big question, in my view, is whether passages like that are JW. ("Hellgi" claimed this one was Ross's doing, but King Mark and I are skeptical.)

Haha I just said this week in another thread that I'd always found CBS's various news themes ineffective. The only one I really like outside of Williams' efforts is the old Kalehoff theme for ABC World News Tonight.
I'd love to hear a performance with actual instruments
Actually I also really like the old PBS News Hour theme too
You didn't like Horner's theme? Blasphemy!

Not a film score but by god this is awesome:
The composer that replaced that theme in 2006 was even better:
You may recognize him.

A friend of mine was there. Apparently there was a whole second half that's not in the stream (incl. a bunch of great ROTS stuff).

Gorgeous arrangement of "Rey's Theme"! I particularly love this middle section starting here:

What are the chances Williams has already been approached to write something for LA 2028?
Fingers crossed!

All are awesome. The fanfare & theme just barely beats COTC for me.

It is indeed possible that this is from TROS but is not from a recording session. Remember that JKMS is who creates the parts from JW's sketches, so they start to be involved earlier in the process than the sessions. (That's not to say this can't be from the sessions, just that that's not the only possibility.)

Saw this earlier but assumed it was an old score!

Overall Life of Pets 2 is pretty heavily disappointing imho, given how awesome Desplat's first score was (a lot of 2 sounds super uninspired to me - I wonder if they had him chained to a temp track or something). Nevertheless, it still has a few excellent moments, e.g.:

True lol. I kinda forgot we already had a teaser.

I hope so! Could just be uninformed people saying "Oh, it uses JW's themes so it is definitely JW," the kind of BS we get every time a teaser is released. But particularly given the timing it is certainly possible. Fingers crossed!
