LP: "Three fifths, one semitone step and an arrangement of a musical earned you five Oscars!? Five Oscars! Ennio is probably thinking too complicated."

LP: "The melody of Star Wars Main Title opens with a fifth."
JW: "So does the Flying Theme from E.T.."
LP: "So does Schindler's."

"He only has one disc with Yo-Yo."

Pre-ordered a "1 disc" edition.
Will there be a 2 CD edition too?
Perhaps the new and old albums combined?

50 minutes ago, igger6 said:I was/am hoping for new cello arrangements of literally anything in Williams' film catalog. I really want—and wanted this to be, or hoped it would be in part—an "Across the Stars" equivalent for cello, basically equivalent to what Yo-Yo did with Morricone's music decades ago. Imagine if Williams did soloist-and-orchestra arrangements of a non-overlapping set of film themes for cello. Here, off the top of my head:
- Love Theme from Superman
- Fawkes the Phoenix
- Love Theme from The Terminal (I can't post more than 50 words on JWFan without those being five of them)
- Rose's Theme from The Last Jedi
- Theme from Angela's Ashes
- The Return from Jane Eyre
- The Rise of Skywalker
- Smee's Plan
- Where Dreams Are Born
- March of the Villains (why not?)
I mean, obviously JW is entitled to sit on his duff, so good for him for doing anything, but this just seems so redundant: updated concerto recorded by the same guy who did it twentysome years ago, along with film pieces that already existed for cello (except maybe two of the Schindler pieces, which will probably be the highlights for me). We should be grateful he's doing anything, but this is basically a skip for me.
He didn't send enough cookies.

If I was an insane person I'd track down every possible recorded instance of JW telling the Schindler anecdote and make an enormous supercut where the story is told by rapidly cutting between all the instances over the years over and over in different combinations
