So this essentially means that if John Williams and his followers are not vaxed they won't be permitted to enter Germany. You can only enter without vax if there is an urgent necessity, and in that case you would also need to isolate for 14 days upon arrival. Cultural activities don't seem to qualify as so-called "zwingende Notwendigkeit".

Overture for the Oscars would be a fine opening for the Berlin concerts! It contains so much of Williams' recent styles and harmonic elements.

Regular random checking of site. You need to be an utter nerd and click and buy as soon as tickets show up. No time for any internal negotiations! I saw 2 tickets for 50 EUR each yesterday before 9 CEST. Last Friday was still quite active. So keep looking!

I had never heard of this comparison between Siegfried's and Luke Skywalker's themes before, which does sound a little constructed. The key in the Star Wars Main Theme is possibly the seventh. Even Superman reaches out further than Siegfried who moves within five notes with his whimsical little horn. As soon as he steps out of this enclosure it is no longer Siegfried's theme.

Anyone who hasn't had luck with tickets so far do keep checking Konzertkalender (berliner-philharmoniker.de) today and into next week! Some payments for the subscriptions haven't gone out yet... Two tickets for Friday just popped up again and I actually manged to get hold of one of them for a close relative. Fingers crossed! Right now I am trying to keep expectations low because we are in this strange transitional situation between post-pandemic relieve and pre-fourth-wave fear. I currently would expect that we get a shorter concert than in Vienna with no interval. But who knows? Since the spacing in the auditorium has been given up (but the masks haven't), one could just as well justify an interval so people get a chance for some fresh air and aerosols. The worst-case-scenario is the "Digital Concert Hall only" solution without audience, a light-weight back-up conductor from Germany with a kind video message from LA.
