Doesn't really matter, since STAR WARS was number ONE on AFI's Greatest Soundtracks of ALL TIME!

Concept is key here-

THE IMPERIAL MARCH alone does NOT a soundtrack make!

CANTINA BAND  was a "single" BEFORE!

 

Of course, the Force theme WAS used in a hushed manner as Ben decides enough is enough.
And since this WAS about Ben's Death, it would have been totally wrong to use Luke's Theme since something in a major key over such a sad scene would NOT have fit at all. Yeah, I know what you're gonna say next-why not just "minor" Luke's Theme to fit the scene?
Again wrong, because the most effective use of Luke's Theme in a minor key was used at the end of THE EMPIRE STRIKES BACK as the rebel fleet is seen sailing softly through space. ( I LOVE that one X-Wing that goes on by the camera!)
Again, since Luke's Theme was already used MORE effectively, during the Chasm Crossfire scene, it would have been a case of "Enough of Luke's Theme already!"
But Leia's theme, with it's built-in melancholy and sadness, was the PERFECT choice for this scene.
Swashbuckling but sad and the cymbal accent occurring when Leia tells Luke that it's "too late" is something that has never been repeated in any movie that I know of.
Between logic and emotion, I choose emotion......

You might want to save your money for something other than these "Ultimate Editions".
For starters, they will have less music than the Special Editions because these are the "originals" so to speak which also means that ROTJ will return as a one LP product, as it was originally issued back in 1983, for various stupid reasons.
Same goes for the PT albums-nothing special, just another cash grab.
Also the fact that Sony thinks that EVERYONE likes all six soundtracks, which ain't true. Even 20th was aware of this fact, as concerned the movies which is why they split them up into two groups back in 2010.

The music for the TIE Fighter Attack is based on the Rebel Fanfare, with descending five-note phrases occurring throughout. This is film scoring at its most triumphant - a cue unlike any other ever written fora movie, and so kinestheticaliy connected to the imagery that it is impossible to believe either existed before the other. A crescendo is reached with the Death Star motif, which brilliantly carries the drama into its final act by musically reminding the audience that the real battle is still to come.
