  1. Will always remember him from Roger Rabbit and Hook, and unfortunately Super Mario Bros. Its a pretty terrible movie, but was oft watched when I was younger so its probably the first image of him my mind goes to. I'm going to have to watch Mona Lisa and The Long Good Friday soon to try and rectify that.
  2. I would have loved to have a two hour block dedicated to Colbert and Ferguson. It always seemed to me like he was never really in it for the money and was just having fun. I guess he saw that time coming and decided to leave before it became a job. Not entirely surprising since he always said he would leave if Letterman did, but I'll miss him. Hopefully he continues his standup specials as they are usually pretty great.
  3. For anyone that's interested, the new remastered version of Robocop on Blu is available for $5 currently on Amazon. Just picked it up after hearing great things about the new transfer.
  4. Alicia Keys should just stay away from doing songs for movies, as her track record isn't exactly stellar (see Another Way to Die). As for the song itself, I'm sure it won't be high up on the list of problems for the movie considering the bad word of mouth already spreading.
  5. Exactly agree with you Wojo. This is only Season 4. It hasn't been that long and the audience should be able to remember the kind of man Rick was prior. I can understand a single flashback at some point to give a little hint and nudge, but to make it a dominant part of the episode was just more of the bait and switch that this show does. They could have had the crew spend a little time with the people at Terminus before it became apparent what was going on, but like everything in this show they rush through the interesting moments and spend episodes and episodes on stuff that can be told in a fraction of the time.
  6. Everything in The Walking Dead is just set up for future seasons. They build and build and build to these big events, then plow through them so fast only to take another ten episodes to set up the next "big event." If not for my brother I probably would have quit the show awhile ago, but now I'm stuck to finish through I'm afraid. I felt a similar feeling with Dexter years ago, and I'm sure the ends will be equally disappointing.
  7. C Baker and McCoy definitely had a few high points, but had such lows too that it just brings everything down. Both do well with the Big Finish audios, though I still feel McCoy is a rather limited actor regardless of the material. Colin Baker is a revelation though and the audio stories show what a terrific doctor that he could have been.
  8. I wouldn't be so sure. He used the same ideas for Mistique as Kamen did, and we know he's used previously established themes before. I don't think they'll be any big statements of the stuff Jackman did, but I wouldn't mind Magneto's stuff from FC to be referenced.
  9. Daredevil was alright as a low rent version of Batman and Spider-Man mixed together. But, as a major Hollywood movie and potential tentpole it was very poor. The SFX were laughable at times, and the dialogue was very stilted being delivered unusually poorly by all involved. The Director's Cut is better in regards to story and plot and definitely makes for a more enjoyable experience. That being said, its not rocket science that it didn't get a sequel.
  10. I understand Eccelston's reasons, at least as far as anyone knows, but he missed a big opportunity. All he had to do was give one day of his time and he could have gotten all the fans to leave him alone for a while and not be bothered by Doctor Who questions. By not taking part, he did himself more harm than good and will likely be even more bothered by fans because of it. This is coming from someone that didn't like 9 all that much and didn't miss him one bit. I'm simply commenting from the standpoint that he could have saved himself a lot of grief by just toughing it out and showing up in Cardiff for a day or two.
  11. I have no problem with a new Indy having adventures in the 1930s and 40s. Its unlikely that anyone will ever eclipse Ford, and no matter how good any actor may be he will still be the one and only as Connery IS Bond for many people. It doesn't mean that others can't interpret the character and have adventures. I don't know if Cooper is right for the role or not, but I wouldn't be opposed to him or someone else having a shot. It will never tarnish the original three films any worse than Crystal Skull did so why not. I love pulp adventures and wouldn't mind seeing Indy on the big screen again.
  12. Yeah, he seems to have gone out of the way to make the fans of the show not like him at this point. It would not of hurt him to show up in Wales for one day to contribute to the proceedings of one of the landmark British television programs. He gets a lot of questions about the show and his lack of involvement, and with one day he could have resolved a lot of those issues that fans have and left a good mark with the fans. I never really liked him either way so it doesn't bother me, but I'm sure he let down a lot of fans of his with an attitude that doesn't really make a lot of sense and is definitely singular among nearly anyone else whose appeared in the show. For christ's sake, he did the GI Joe Movie....
  13. I agree. As do I, though I didn't word it properly. I want Bond on a mission working in the field. I'm getting tired of Bond constantly in communication with MI6 all the time. Even in QOS when he was out on his on he was still checking in every 10 minutes it felt like. I don't want the films to become Spooks featuring James Bond.
  14. I am actually. I didn't mind Jackman's work on X-Men, didn't love it either. However, I really enjoyed his score for Wreck It Ralph so I'm looking forward to this one. I doubt we'll get to hear Silvestri's theme, unless they use a bit near the end when it may be appropriate.
  15. Big yeah for Dean Winters. The exact opposite for Duhamel. I've seen him in a lot of things, and unless this is a comedy I don't see him holding his own.
  16. God forbid a woman do anything but be a secretary! But that's what she is. She took the post because she wasn't cut out to be a field agent. Now, I don't mind her doing computer hacking or working with Q on something, but if she's back in the field it not only undoes her character moments in Skyfall, it makes her a field agent and not M's personal assistant, which is what the Moneypenny character is. Its not as if a secretary at Apple is also designing the software for the next iPhone.
  17. Yeah, while I think Synder was a slave to the source a little too much, at least he respected it. I would have been something if Gilliam's movie was a sequel, but if this was the movie that came out in '09 I don't know what I would have thought.
  18. Nice to have ya around here. My list of Doctor's Favorite to least is as follows. The top and bottom is generally set, though the middle probably fluctuates depending on my mood and what I've watched recently. Troughton Smith Baker (Tom) McGann Tennant Hartnell Baker (Colin) Davison Pertwee Eccelston McCoy
  19. Seeing the designs of these villains, its as if they are trying to compare to the Arkham video games. These kind of designs that they are going with work in a world like Batman, but just look out of place in Spidey's.
  20. I'm guessing he just has a really good agent. Every project that has come along recently his name is rumored, yet he's never cast. I guess his agent is just trying to get his name out there as much as possible, hoping eventually a producer will take a chance on him. Of the two episodes I watched of Girls, he was terrible in both so I really hope this isn't true.
  21. Past success does not promise such for the future. He's a great talent, but Breaking Bad was more than just him. It was the perfect combination of so many people and talents that just produced something wonderful. This is a David Shore show produced by Gilligan as others have said, as Better Call Saul will be similarly. Once he decides to do something new and on his own, then I'll take notice, but never will expect something like Breaking Bad again.
  22. Shame, as he was a great director lost doing mostly crap recently (shame his last film is Year One). A good thing is that now people who were not aware will realize how big of a role he played in comedy films from the 70s through the 90s.
  23. Its James Gunn. Its going to be an action/comedy with a heavy emphasis on the comedy I would assume.
