Top Gun 2 is the first movie to get an A+ CinemaScore since the most recent Spider-Man, suggesting it will have a very very good weekend. It should escape the Memorial Day weekend curse (it seems to happen fairly often that Mem Day openers are notorious under performers vs. expections: Solo, Tomorrowland, Pirates 4, Prince of Persia, a few others)

I love all the obvious matte paintings and "TV lookin" sets. All the seams make it more endearing to me.

The Mando one works as cool logo music (sorry I just like it) while this new one just sounds like the beginning of a longer cue, doesn’t feel natural to me

I prefer the Ludwig one.

Relistened to the Willow OST by watching my old isolated score videos. I love it so much, over-used Hornerisms and all! There's really only a few minutes missing (barring alternates/unused score) but I would just love to have this score "checked off the list." I'm guessing there's really not much to be done about the very long cues, though.

I am very happy for them to not attempt to emulate Williams.

All the songs in CMIYC I was already very familiar with before the movie came out so I don’t really associate them with that movie like I might if it was how I first heard them. So I always find them a bit jarring in the midst of the JW cues.

Both Gremlins 2 and Innerspace were VHS tapes I watched a bunch as a kid, so I have a nostalgic connection to those scores. I fell in love with Gremlins 2 and didn’t see the first one for years. I was in college when I finally saw it.

Talking to my daughter about when the various SW movies came out, I suddenly realized that this year it’s officially been longer since Episode 1 came out (23 years) than the time between the original film and Episode 1 (22 years)
