  1. Samples for The Mummy are up on iTunes. The Mummy (Original Motion Picture Soundtrack) [Deluxe Edition] by Brian Tyler https://itun.es/us/6Aolkb
  2. Yeah, he's always had a reputation as a real enfant terrible.
  3. Yes, like with the Star Wars prequels and Williams, I only really care about The Hobbit films insofar as they provided a foundation upon which new Howard Shore music was laid.
  4. I watched the BOTFA EE once. I swear PJ had actually lost his mind by that point. He couldn't manage one compelling scene in all the fighting in Dale.
  5. It's kinda funny how what was a huge artistic and commercial gamble in 1998/1999 was a mercenary, greedy cash-grab in 2012.
  6. The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King Heavenly Creatures Dead Alive/Braindead Bad Taste Damn! Seconds before me! King Kong is another movie I love for how crappy the line readings are. Jack Black and Jamie Bell give career worst performances!
  7. Yes! Best Charge Across No Man's Land 2017!
  8. I'm clearly on the highest end of opinions of Wonder Woman on this forum, and even I think nominating it for any awards would be ludicrous.
  9. The final duel is great comedy! I'm serious when I say ROTS is one of my favorite comedy films.
  10. Tom Cruise has re-teamed with Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman for "a biopic and drug thriller about a real-life commercial airline pilot who became a smuggler and later worked for the CIA and the DEA": And it looks like it could be good fun! Domhnall Gleeson co-stars!
  11. I love ROTS because of how shitty it is. It has the most hilariously bad line-readings of any major Hollywood film I've ever seen. My personal favorite: "A Sith. Lord?" "Yes. The one we've been looking for." Jackson and Christensen sound so deeply, profoundly bored. I love it. One of my favorite movies to put on while drinking heavily with a friend or two to just point and laugh at.
  12. I watched Gremlins 2 a lot as a kid and didn't see the first until I was in my twenties. Probably why 2 is my favorite film and score.
  13. What many people do get is how shoddily executed much of the 2nd and 3rd film are. I voted Star Wars only because The Hobbit was more disappointing in its mediocrity. They could've been so great as two films. Damn your excessive self-indulgence, Peter Jackson!
  14. I'm on record many times on this forum with my opinion that Goblet of Fire is underrated and the 2nd best Potter film. But yeah, I want a complete Prisoner of Azkaban release so badly it aches.
  15. I will agree that Chris Pine is the actual hero of the film.
  16. Totoro has this BIG, scary roar that she doesn't like. Every time he was on screen she'd find an excuse to try to leave the room ("I'm hungry", "I need to go potty", etc.) It was pretty cute. She already loves cats, so catbus was just in her wheelhouse.
  17. I agree with a lot of this, but just really liked it. It's all standard-issue, Screenwriting 101, Joseph Campbell shit, which is fine. I half-expected her to break out into a song from Moana in the opening part on the island. It's all in the execution! It was well-paced with very enjoyable lead performances from Gadot and Pine. Like seriously, Gadot embodies Wonder Woman just as much as Christopher Reeve embodied Superman all those years ago. She might have a hard time being taken seriously in other roles, much like Reeve. Also, it was not "merely having a boyfriend." It was witnessing his sacrifice, the goodness that existed in him, that showed her the power of love and the capacity for good in all humans. It showed her that humans are worth protecting, as he was willing to put everything on the line to protect others. I'm not saying it 100% worked, but I think you're being inaccurate and reductive in summarizing it that way.
  18. Finally! Now the only thing working against the film is the fact that Gilliam hasn't made a good movie in 20 years!
