My most anticipated "major blockbuster" type movie of 2016 for sure. Can't wait! The Paul Greengrass Bourne movies are both outstanding; action classics in my opinion.
I do wish they'd been able to think of a good noun to go in a "The Bourne [fill-in-the-blank]" title though.

I'm also quite an admirer of his action cues for Tomorrowland, in addition to the sweeping, fantastical tracks. "The Battle of Bridgeway" in particular is very fun.
-
For me that was a score that worked incredibly well in the movie and was just a miserable standalone listen.
-
Giacchino really did have a banner 2015 didn't he? Jupiter and Tomorrowland are two of his best ever, Jurassic World had some great moments (esp. "As the Jurassic World Turns" of course), and say what you will about Inside Out as a standalone listening experience, in context it was beautiful.

I'm very glad to see “Pin-Ultimate Experience” get nominated. One of my favorite tracks from what was my favorite score of 2015 until Force Awakens came out. Tomorrowland yay!

Egg on my face! I googled around and you are correct. For some reason I thought Ottman's great main theme for X2 was Kamen's from the original. This is probably because I haven't actually seen the original in over 10 years.
While I was indeed thinking of X2 can I retroactively act like I was thinking of Superman Returns the whole time to save face? He definitely re-used Williams' original there! :-P

That will be John Ottman, 99.9% guaranteed.
More than likely. And we know that John Ottman has NO problem continuing themes from previous movies by different composers, which I think is a good thing personally.

I wish they had a different director attached. And the jokes are so easy. I can almost imagine Singer's pitch:
"This is my version of the Nautlius. It's long, hard, cylindrical and full of seamen"
Paul J. Smith's score for the 50s Disney movie is still one of my favorites ever. I would love it if whoever scores Singer's included some references to at least his theme for Captain Nemo.

I am not.

They really arent similar at all IMO.
The Flag Parade is a Rozsa' like Roman epic "celebratory" march. While March Of The Resistance is a far more grim WWII- movie style Ron Goodwin type affair.
Agreed. I voted for 'March of the Resistance' because I love its down and dirty, "in the trenches" feel. That's a real war of attrition march.

Back away, not today, disco lady.

Hook. It is the lord of all Williams scores!

Hook cannot be omitted from such a discussion. That final battle features some truly incredible writing.
Also, welcome!

Thanks!
I am particularly fond (read: obsessed with) of this section from about 5:30 to 6:20:

I thought it was an absolutely beautiful moment, musically, narratively, and visually. Captures all the hope and uncertainty of those wonderful first looks between Luke and Rey.
