Yes.  And Fargo embodies both the irony and the tragedy of the story.  And Hudsucker is wonderful, the whole score not just the Khatchaturian adapted cues.  And True Grit!
 
I just love the way Burwell reflects and comments upon the unique tones of the Coens films.  A great underrated director-composer collaboration!

I mean, can you imagine a shitty video game movie these days getting a cue like this????  Classic treacly Silvestri and it's fantastic.
 
 

Very late to the game here but I started playing Jedi: Fallen Order over the weekend (on Series X) and am quite enjoying it.  No one told me it was a platformer!

I like this arrangement of the Chopin "Winter Wind" etude for piano and orchestra.  It's a light touch, with the orchestra mostly there to add color and emphasis to the piano.  It works!

Yes, it is too much assumed around here that everyone values the composer's intentions above all else. I of course do value a composer's intentions, and I'm not saying that directors mangling a composer's work is always or ever a good thing.  But for a lot of people their love of a score comes from their love of a movie first, and it's the music from the movie they want to hear.

A couple of months ago I discovered this "Performer's Guide to Concertos for Trumpet and Orchestra by Lowell Liebermann and John Williams."  It's a dissertation by Brian Winegardener, who I believe is now a trumpet player with the Knoxville Symphony Orchestra in Tennessee.
 
I consider this essential reading for any one who loves or is interested in Williams' Trumpet Concerto.  It's my favorite of all of Williams' concerti so I devoured it!
 
It's written as a performer's guide but it's a wonderful listening guide as well, really opening up the intricacies of this work.

It reminds me so much of some of his horror/action writing for Jurassic Park and Lost World, if it was a blind listening test I'd probably have identified it as being from one of those instead of AI.  It even has the spinny noise maker percussion thing.
