  1. I think he's better jungle music is on the Jurassic Park score. In The Lost World it sounds more like salsa. LOL
  2. I miss Herb Spencer and Alexander Courage (yes, I know they're not engineers)
  3. Or to make the strings of woodwind phrases more clear. Sometimes the triangle can be confused with the chimes (that instrument that looks like a marimba or vibraphone, only metal instead of wood). Well, at least when I didn't know anything about music, I thought it was the triangle.
  4. Williams couldn't use the E.T. rifles because Spielberg changed them to walkie talkies Violin Concerto (Mendelssohn)
  5. Yes. I haven't read any of these "celebrity deathmatch" topics. It's about time.
  6. Ah, the annoying comment I was hoping not to appear.
  7. I've heard this expression plenty of times, "apollonian", "dyonisian". What does this mean? Hector - asking to know more Hector2 - who thinks Williams is a great conductor of classics, but unfortunately there are no recordings of complete works
  8. Overrated as of late: Howard Shore. At least in these forums
  9. What about the recording on Sony Classical's "Williams on Williams"? I wish that version would have been purely acoustic. Williams The Imperial March Skywalker Symphony Orchestra John Williams
  10. Well, the concert you atended is kind of my Williams dream concert -- only missing an Angela's Ashes suite in there. The Cello Concerto is my favourite Williams work, second only to ET. How 'bout this one: I went to the John Williams 70th Birthday concert in Los Angeles with Yo-Yo Ma. Just two weeks after the premiere of "Call to the Champions". And of course, the first concert after his birthday. The program was this: All Williams music. For Seiji! Concerto for Cello and Orchestra Mr. Ma Intermission Two Pieces from Angela's Ashes Theme - Angela's Prayer Elegy for Cello and Orchestra Two Pieces from "Three Pieces for Solo Cello" Rosewood - Pickin' Mr. Ma Celebration 2000 Encore: "Flying" from E.T. Williams The Imperial March Skywalker Symphony Orchestra John Williams
  11. What about Horner. The love theme played by this instrument (or english horn) is one of the best stuff I've heard. Very erotic.
  12. Oh, man, I absolutely adore that part. I like the clarity of that part on the Boston Pops recording. BTW, I thought it was an english horn.
  13. Something like that here, with the love theme from Braveheart, among others.
  14. I wonder which program is the one they'll be taping for Evening at Pops
  15. Yeah. He had to have been in his mid-20's when he did. I think that's partially the reason she came out with a cd entitled, "Age ain't nothin' but a number." That man's just as bad as Micheal Jackson, I mean what's the deal with these superstars anyway. You'll never hear on the news that JW was in some situation like that. I mean honestly, wasn't R. Kelly able to get pretty much any groupie he wanted, and yet he went for a youngin'? The MJ thing is just plain sick, if it's true
  16. So does R. Kelly. lol Ah, yes. Saw the video
  17. That's very interesting point of view. Hector - who did watch The Simpsons version of Hamlet
