Option 1: Williams writes some new music, fucks off and lets Ross do the rest.
Option 2: Williams writes some new music, gives guidelines for all other cues, which themes or previously written cues they should build on, which Ross then proceeds to write, fill out with new connective material.
Option 3: Williams writes most music and sketches out parts which are heavy on reusing earlier Stone material, Ross fleshes these out.
Option 4: Williams writes everything as he would with a normal score, Ross gets a bigger credit than he should because Williams is too humble and when the project was started it wasn't yet clear how big Ross's involvement would be.

I think these are pretty much the only 4 options, obviously some are less likely than others. We have NEVER gotten a straight answer telling us which one was the case.

Why?  When you redo an album you don't have another releases' remix in mind.  That doesn't make any sense at all.

Isle of Dogs - had to after rewatching the film. It works perfectly there, giving it a rythm and holding it all together. On album, though, it's repetitive and ultimately doesn't seem to go anywhere or amount to much, it just repeats and repeats, playing with adding or subtracting instrument groups, then stops at one point. The 3-note whistle had a bigger presence in the film (but mostly just whistled, I guess), I think that would've had the potential to become a CE3K 5-note thing, symbolyse the human-dog relationship, play it properly or dissonantly accordingly. I like the traditional instrument choices and somehow that ryhmicness makes it addicting, though.

Grand Budapest Hotel - now this is more like it. After a couple listen you can distinguish the good handful of motifs played around with, making it less repetitive. There's a couple multitrack cluters that have an internal structure, escalation between them, and in the end, Canto at Gabelmeister's Peak and Troops Barracks really feel like they're grander than what came before and have been built up to. Moonshine is a perfect bow on the package, such a fun piece. Cimbalom always butters my heart up, but combined with the balalaika it's very effective in creating a Central/Eastern European feel. I dig it.

One thing that comes to my mind is that the past is already past and the genre-defining films have already defined the genre as is. For practical purposes, the Falcon possibly looks almost as antiquated today as it will 20 or 50 years ago. However, when you try to imagine the cutting edge today, it might work for a year or two then look ridiculous for all time to come except in the very rare cases where you manage to accurately predict the exact future, in which case it will lose its novelty somewhat.

Could that opening just have been Lor San Tekka handing the map to Poe or something, maybe the scene was longer, and only then did we see the FO arriving, which is our opening now?

Yeah, do we have any confirmation these use actual original JW titles, not made-up ones for longer stretches or film edits? (We know how Mike has to rename things (film version) or (original) or (alternate) or (revised) to differentiate it from the already released but different version) It's still great to have *a* list but I wouldn't take it as gospel.

I like the utilitarian look of ships - switches, buttons, levers, they're all tactile devices which tell the audience that they do something; that the actors are interacting with something physical is also a bonus. I'm actually sick of the futuristic, touchscreen holographic interfaces, it's lazy, and unrealistic.

Here’s the list for Episode IV, which has full score leaks for most cues. The cue named and numbers match the sheet music leaks very closely, apart from correcting typos and omitting references to revisions, extensions, alternates, etc. Some cues had more than one title written, like 3M3, which has both ‘The Sand Speeder’ and ‘Land of the Sand People’ written at the top.

So, while it’s not as good as a primary source, these seem quite likely to be accurate.

If they remove stuff, does that also mean the price goes down?

Also... why are so many contracts and rules so very completely and utterly pointless?!?
There are even massive laws like the US Jones Act which manage to have the exact opposite effect of what they're intended for.

In the end, people have to waste time and effort finding loopholes and the original intent gets completely lost somewhere along the way.
    Nobody wins.

I guess that would have brought in the skinners, people would have rushed and been upset if they didn't get one after all. But this radio silence until it slowly disappears, then silently dropping "oh yeah, it's gone now" really isn't a good way either.
