Kinda not surprised. Even with him being fired from IX, he originally pitched Jurassic World as a trilogy to Spielberg. It was probably envitable that he would return to the franchise.

I'd be surprised if he can write anything as good as Williams Zelda theme.

Ready Player One - I think I'm pretty much loved every minute of this. The cultural references never felt forced, and they served the plot-well. The scavenger hunt plot in particular reminded me a lot of The Goonies, which I dug, and the film really gave me a sense of fun and whimsy, something that seems to be sorely lacking in a lot of modern films. Not to mention the soundtrack was great. Plus aside from some small slow scenes, for a 2 and a half hour film, it went by relatively fast. The Berg is still the best. - 8 / 10

They asked, and they got rocks and a swift kick of rejection, in return.

Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)
Wonderful film. Being a fan of stop-motion features, especially those by Aardman and Laika, I thought I'd give this a watch. The characters are very simple but well-defined, the story is streamlined and amusing, the dialogue is sharp and witty, and the film overall looks lively and whimsical, like a children's book come to life. I can see how some might find his shot composition and cinematography a bit rigid, but I feel like every frame is a painting. It's carefully crafted in a way that is beautiful and unique among any filmmaker I've seen. Very much looking forward to seeing his latest stop-motion film, Isle of Dogs.
***** out of *****
Fantastic Mr. Fox is awesome. I'm really looking forward to Isle of Dogs. Anderson excels tremendously with stop motion.

The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey - rewatch, though it was my first time watching the extended cut, which unsurprisingly goes on way longer then it should - 7 / 10

Lu Over The Wall - 7.5 / 10
In The Fade - 8.5 / 10

The Death of Stalin - Great satire take on a serious subject, and hysterical as well. The whole cast is great, but Buscemi is stands out as the MVP. - 7.5 / 10

Lincoln - Another rewatch confirmed it as one of my top ten Spielberg film. Extradionary film, and Williams' score and Day-Lewis's performance helps immensely. Love it. - 10 / 10

Most of us never really do, honestly.

Ava - Decent "coming of age" drama. - 7 / 10

Father and Son - Moving Vietnam drama about a man and his son. Gets very emotional near the end. - 8 / 10

Other Side of Hope (rewatch) - 7.5 / 10

The Shepherdess of The Glaciers - Saw this at a film festival. It's an interesting documentary about a woman who looks after sheep and goats. - 7.5 / 10

Looks great. I'm looking forward to Cap Vs. Thanos.
-
Taming The Horse - Chinese documentary about essentially a clearly messed-up individual. Kinda interesting, but the person who the documentary follows clearly has some issues. Mixed bag. - 6 / 10

I think EON just has a routine, and relies on the usual same people for each film, especially when it comes to writing. It's no different then when say Richard Maibaum was co-writing or writing most of the Bond scripts back in the old days. It's basically like a team effort.
-
If anything I'm interested in the fact that Purvis & Wade aren't working on the script this time. After the last few films, it's good to get some new blood on the series, so I approve of it.
Hopefully Arnold returns to score too. It's almost criminal that he hasn't scored a film in years.

Good theme. Sounds like classic 80's Silvestri to me.

Left On Purpose - A really depressing documentary. I'm not sure I cared for it as much as I should have, despite its noble efforts. - 5 / 10

I actually really enjoyed the first Fantastic Beasts, and thought it added to the Potter mythology appropriately. This looks better though. Hogwarts, cool. Also hopefully JNH delivers the goods again, I really enjoyed his score to the first.

I'm shocked. He's a legend. One of the most brilliant minds of his time. His contributions to science are duly noted. RIP!

"SPOON" will never not bring a smile to my face.

So Shane Black is directing a Predator sequel...
