  1. Ready Player One - I think I'm pretty much loved every minute of this.

The cultural references never felt forced, and they served the plot-well. The scavenger hunt plot in particular reminded me a lot of The Goonies, which I dug, and the film really gave me a sense of fun and whimsy, something that seems to be sorely lacking in a lot of modern films. Not to mention the soundtrack was great. Plus aside from some small slow scenes, for a 2 and a half hour film, it went by relatively fast. The Berg is still the best. - 8 / 10

    Fantastic Mr. Fox (2009)

Wonderful film. Being a fan of stop-motion features, especially those by Aardman and Laika, I thought I'd give this a watch. The characters are very simple but well-defined, the story is streamlined and amusing, the dialogue is sharp and witty, and the film overall looks lively and whimsical, like a children's book come to life. I can see how some might find his shot composition and cinematography a bit rigid, but I feel like every frame is a painting. It's carefully crafted in a way that is beautiful and unique among any filmmaker I've seen. Very much looking forward to seeing his latest stop-motion film, Isle of Dogs.

    ***** out of *****

Fantastic Mr. Fox is awesome. I'm really looking forward to Isle of Dogs. Anderson excels tremendously with stop motion.

  3. Lincoln - Another rewatch confirmed it as one of my top ten Spielberg film. Extradionary film, and Williams' score and Day-Lewis's performance helps immensely. Love it. - 10 / 10

I don't think I'll ever really"come of age". Not until I die of course.

Most of us never really do, honestly.

  4. I think EON just has a routine, and relies on the usual same people for each film, especially when it comes to writing. It's no different then when say Richard Maibaum was co-writing or writing most of the Bond scripts back in the old days. It's basically like a team effort.
